  1. That was eggszackly my first thoughts - that crazy desire to build up a set of lenses for a newly acquired lens mount. My second thought was to strike the Nikon FA from the above list and replace it, if need be, with a FE2 to go with FM2 - both of which use AIS lenses.
  2. Good Morning Everyone - to carry on the larger than 35mm theme - a couple 6x9 images from a Billy Record II, 125PX souped in HC110-h "The Spirit of Texas" "Appreciated"
  3. Here's a hand-held exposure taken at f/2.8 indoors with 50mm Skopar mounted to a Vtio BR, which is essentially a Vitomatic II without a built in light meter. Wide open, close in, not as crisp - but still acceptable.
  4. I've never seen a Prominent with 50/3.5 Skopar - but evidently they do exist. I prefer the Ultron. Voigtlander Prominent With regards to the 50mm, f/3.5 Skopar - if it as well designed at the unit focusing 50mm, f/2.8 version - which was fitted to the later Vitomatic and Bessamatics - it's very good lens. Both the Vitomatic and Bessamatic were like the Prominent also behind-the-lens leaf shutter cameras. The first image below shows a close up exposure with the f/2.8 on a Vitomatic IIa in as close as I could get the camera to focus. Second exposure is with DKL mount f/2.8 50mm Skopar
  5. Social distancing with a Voigtlander Vitessa, (Type 125) - 50/2 Utron - Tri-X souped in HC110-h EARLY MORNING BIRDS ELECTION PROTECTION STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN - SOUTH SHORE OF LADY BIRD LAKE - AUSTIN, TEXAS
  6. Great American story behind the Argus cameras to include an interesting back story regarding International Radio of Ann Arbor, MI. Both were able to carve out niches against better established firms, with products that essentially were "hit them where they ain't" - in this affordable compact radios that fit well with apartment dwellers and in 1933 a $10.00 35mm camera. I'm sure that someone at both the established brands, Ansco and Kodak took notice.
  7. Finally a monument to J. Frank Dobie and his wife Bertha. Look him up. Ditto
  8. Monuments to our Austin real estate and tech bubble. Same camera and film
  9. A series of monuments taken with my Voigtlander Vitomatic IIa fitted with a 50/2 Ultron. 35mm Tri-X film souped in HC110. Monuments: Stephen F Austin to start the series.
  10. This now reconditioned Agfa Billy Record II came to me with the Solinar fitted to a Synchro-Compur. It took me years to figure a safe way to unfreeze the front focusing cell. - Upon which time, it received the needed new bellows. Without a doubt, a second tier medium format folder - with that said, when folded it's a very compact package for the format. With regards to looks, the camera still has a bit of the Art Deco charm of Agfa's earlier versions of the Record.
  11. On the topic of a heavy film camera- that Minox is more easily transportable than my Vitomatic IIa shown below.
  12. It's been awhile since I visited photo net. So, one more before I skedaddle.
  13. Capitol Fence - Voigtlander Vitessa with a Proximeter I attached using Fuji C200 film.

  16. Littlefield Fountain, a memorial for the 1st World War - UT Austin One of a series from a recent roll of Fuji C200 35mm taken with a Bessamatic CS / 50mm Septon lens.
  17. From the better spec'd Voigtlander Vito BR - with rangefinder focusing and unit focusing Color Skopar. - UT Austin Main Building Stair Well -
  18. It takes a brave individual to use an Olympus 35 RC on a dark night. Anyway, here are a coupe from my mid-century Vitos. - 1949 Studebaker -
  19. Too late to edit my above comment- but the 3 Voigtlander lenses intended for the Vitessa T 35mm rangefinder were different than those for the Bessamatic SLR.
  20. To be honest, I should check the internet, but I thought the Retina mounts had the aperture adjustment on the shutter body. On the Voigtlander Synchro Compur mount, the aperture adjustment is on the interchangeable lens. Take what I just wrote as hearsay.
  21. Thanks. With regards to their respective age - in order from the youngest of the pair, one is over 40 year old, while its German predecessor is now slightly past 60 years its build date.
  22. From one of my smallest, most compact 35mm cameras, a Voigtlander Vito II - Clothing Vendor - New Orleans, Louisiana
  23. Two similarly sized, fixed-lens 35mm rangefinder cameras. - I need to finish a roll of film in the 35RD and begin shooting with the Vito BR.
