Great execution. However, i don't know if you know about them, but there are at least 2 photos with exactly the same idea on photo.net... One of them (the second one, chronologically), in addition, uses a dictionary as book and it has the word "cuore" (=heart) in the view.

"was the intention to duplicate an ovum/sperm?"
Knicki, aren't you a bit biased? :)
-
Erin:) perhaps it was.
-
fun shot:)
Yeah, peaches are like that.

IMO, it needs something to make it more than just a shopcase photo. The old walls and slight overexposure don't help. A person would, maybe.
-
I find it interesting, simple and quite decorative (although being not religious). Great eye for noticing this reflection. That 1/1 rate is quite funny.

this is a very spooky photo. I like it a lot, it does give the sense of a big mass of moving people, and in the same time the persons closeby do have a recognizable face which makes it much more effective. How long was the shutter time?
-
It is indeed an impressive old tree. But the skin of the peolpe is red, and the bright parts are too bright, i.e. the contrast is way too high.
-
Great scene, well captured. The colour saturation is a bit exaggerated, for my taste. It would be nice enough without that.
-
I took a look on your animals folder. You seem to love cats; you have there at least 25 cat pictures. Still, this one is far the best... (in my view, at least).
-
great idea and a very simple and efficient realization.

It's still a bit unsharp. Could be the upload quality, could be camera shake, could be DOF issue. Where did you focus?
By the way, which mountains were these? (Don't tell me "carpathes"...be more precise:) )

Unless you yourself find it boring, overdone, don't worry. There will always be people who will not like it since they've already seen something similar. So what? Should all the nature photographers give it up, just because National Geographic was already there?
On the other hand, a nice girl next to the window, egy ilyen sz鰠mosollyal, will never be boring :)
One small observation: i miss her right fingertips.....
Cheers & have a good light!

I'm sorry, Steve, I apologize, it was Alex who said that:)
-
fantastic, i got a big smile on my face immediately, thanks for that!
-
Steve says "A man in the same pose would have much different connotations. "
Why? Don't women enjoy sex in the same pose? Why are naked men immediately associated with sex, while women are okay, i don't get it.
Great photo.

Thanks, Belle.
Well, if one could read (and understand) the texts written on those boards, it would be clearer who this person is and why the title. Actually, one can read it on the negative, with a loupe, but not on the 10x10 cm print.
Anyway, one also might understand the picture better if he/she lives in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. This white bearded white dressed half bald guy is driving around the city centre every day talking loud about how God will (not) mercy us for being sinners and such. Lately, he got a huge plastic flower from somewhere and extended his "wardrobe" with it. But the cell phone is something new and extremely funny looking in his hands.
Cheers@have a good light today.

It's a pity that his hand is a bit off-frame. That prevents me seeing what you describe as Zeus casting a bolt:) With regard to the 30's, the clothing style of the two are quite modern, they won't fit in that age I think.
On the other hand, don't worry about how many layers you had to use in photoshop, the result is great and that's more important. It had to be a difficult situation for shooting anyway (low light on the bottom half, high contrasts, tight space etc). I like the circle formed by "Marty" looking at "J", "J"looking at the photographer and the photographer looking at "Marty" - okay, not exactly, but almost. The offcentering of the man helps with this.
-
It looks fine (although the top is too close framed, i'd say), but I wonder why is it considered so original by many.
-
so, comments please!
-
Thanks, Guido, There are, indeed, lots of things on the photo. I thought myself of cropping off at least the top dartboards and the white board on the right to simplify it.
What do you mean by lacking contrast, by the way?
-
Approx. 1/30s @ f/4, neck-held(TLR). Any comments are appreciated,
thanks and have a good light.

Is that mirror for sale?

One more idea. I see you were going to really big brightness in the background and really dark face. Well, it looks much better (in my oppinion, but i'm not a pro neither!) if you ise a second light to partially light the face, in the case you take the protrait from the front. If it's profile, it should be easier with one large light source, like that window.
Or, you could tilt a bit the light source, resp. your subject and camera position, so that the three are not exactly on the same line but form an angle. In that case, here, one side of her face would be lit a bit more which would reveal some of her look/character(?) without destroying the brightness/halo effect. Have fun.
