Apologies in the dyslexic moment of spelling your name Michael, in the above post.
-
Agree with Carl Root and Marc Gs last comments.
I too am a fan of getting the exposure right for the area of the image that I deem the most important and letting everything else fall where it may.
Daniel has the gift of seeing the fleeting opportunity, the ability to capture several correctly exposed and composed images with a variety of framing options in the few seconds that the event occurs. The man is a photojournalist, and a damn good one at that, just like our other great PJ here Micheal Ging.
Humph, others that would stand there saying "Gee that looks nice!" and forget they are holding a camera prefer to take snipe shots referring to "photoshop manipulation" and the like and ignore the fact that every thing has coalesced in this image into what HB defined as the "Decisive Moment".
-
Has caught the moment perfectly Marc, note the flattened ball as this husky ball crushing Russian lass sends it rocketing back to her opponent ;-)
-
I like this picture Jon, it shows that you have a great eye and sense of timing.

Not to much ordinary in this pic, I presume this is a two thousand year old Roman aquaduct, beautifully engineered and photographed!
-
Are this couple vampires? They look a little wan.

Oh come on Hiroya, you found this guy inside the "War machine from Mars" then invited him home and whacked him into the pot!
-
Hmmmm. Well seen again Hiroya. When I first was the thumbnail pics of this device the first thing that came into my head was 'War of the Worlds' HG Wells

Skinheads are a subculture, with various subcultures within that Walter. An example would be racist Neo Nazi types and in direct contrst to that, SHARP skinheads, (Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice, so you see, there is more to it than meets the eye;-)
As far as haircuts go a no2 clipguard cut would be the upper limit although of course some do shave their heads
-
So true Walter, but it is 2006 now, and not many of these vehicles exist, let alone being DRIVEN at Airshows. After all, it is a genuine three million dollar Third Reich Mercedes Ministerial Amoured car, and probably the only one in the world that is occasionally 'outed for public viewing

Yes, that is an improvement Colin, it gives them a place instead of floating around in a void!
-
Indeed Colin "You vill haf to wrest dis veapon from my cold dead hands" and as the MP44 was the worlds first assault rifle and only issued to elite German troops, the Frenchman would have had work really hard to earn this one in real life. I guess his camouflage is for night operations, but then again he is a Frenchman!
Incidentally, the rifle is an original example and one of two that are part of Peter Jacksons WW2 armoury. These are rare collectors items and fetch around US $10,000 on WW2 small arms market

Well done. Great timing and compostion.
-
Lovely whimsical expression of this beautiful woman Rusla. My only criticism is that the white in the background is too bright and competes with the subject.

Go back again, shoot from the hip!
-
very good composition and perspective, solid building!
-
Yes "No pain, no gain", certainly worth a couple of head dongs to get this lovely enviromental pic.
There would be a good adrenaline rush too, once you got to the top without plunging to your death on the way up!
Lucky you to be in such a history laden place and thanks for posting the folder.

Agree with Jeff, excellents skills and timing to capture is lovely extra wide angle pic when the opportunity briefly appeared in front of you.

This guy certainly looks just as tenacious as his canine friend, but would have been a tight fit in the cockpit of a Spitfire during the Battle of Britain. The British Bulldog incarnate in both incarnations. Winston Churchill was the archetype of that, although even uglier than the bulldog if that is possible. Good eye as usual Colin.

Nice concept, and I agree with the points in Emre's critique. Just a liitle more care to make it a very good image. Here is a tweak to the saturation and curves to give a bit more contrast. I have not altered the poorly colourised part beneath the bra on the woman
