Really nice colours and lights. Wider angle lens might have been nice. Thanks for posting this.

At first I wondered whether you should lighten up the background - but the gradation of light seems to draw your eyes forward. The rocks and water almost glow. Very nice texture. Did you use tone mapping / HDR?

Very enjoyable effect. What exposure factors did you use?

I am not a very good photographer, but I have noticed something quite interesting and amusing. If I put up an average photo that has had High Dynamic Range processing, it gets a much higher rating than the actual native image. In fact, a rather average composition with HDR often gets a higher rating than a really creative photo that does not have HDR. HDR images can look very unusual and eye catching, but that is different from a really well taken creative natural photograph. Really good HDR photographs taken by people who are expert in its use seem to heighten reality, rather than looking fake, in my opinion.
Now, we have someone who has taken a fantastic photo, making superb use of natural light, and it is so good some people assume it must be fake.
Kind of funny, I think.
Some have also commented that a photo like this is boring - after all, the idea of taking a photo of a mountain reflected in a lake is hardly new - but, there are many genres that one could attempt to excel in. It is not easy to walk miles and miles into obscure places and get really good work. I really enjoy this photo, personally.

Thanks for your comments. I am not sure about the blur but thought I would try it. Just a moment I liked. Thanks for looking.

This brother and sister were playing away on market day, oblivious to
the crowds. I sat and watched them, and you could see the big sister
watching over the brother, with her brother imitating his sister to
the doll.

I see what Jagdeep is saying, but I have to say I like it the way it is - look realistic, not posed to me. She looks like she is going somewhere, and just turned back after being called. Her lips being pursed makes you feel she has been interrupted in something she has been thinking about. Great background.
I spent an hour trying to get some family shots yesterday - aaaggh. Frustrating and non-productive. I think I should invite you over to take them for me!!!

Very nice. Sky maybe a bit dark? But very nice work - would be nice to see blown up. Great depth of field. The texture on the water is extremely good. Can you tell us what you did on post processing? It worked very well.

Agree with David. I gather there are robot-generated ratings on Photo.net that the elves have to remove manually, from bogus accounts. I wonder if this is one of them, or if people just don't take the time to look and think. The more I look at this one, the more I like it.
I guess you can't really pay too much attention to the ratings. I see someone once put up famous masterpieces of photography on a critique website, and the pictures got panned, with scathing comments - quite funny.
I could see this hanging in an art gallery if it were a painting.

Very thought provoking. A tiny bit of the little pieces that make up a day, an experience - well captured. Very original composition. I see some gave it poor ratings, but I like it.

Built in 1887-90 for Robert Dunsmuir. He made his fortune by
recognizing the decline of sailing ships and the ascendency of coal.
He discovered a seam of coal in 1869, rising from his background as a
poverty stricken orphan to one of the wealthiest men in the world. He
was a brutal and ruthless businessman, and died before he could see
his mansion completed.

Well, I think you did a great job! Unusual composition, nice tones.

Extremely nice image. I guess you have to use a large format camera with a tilted back to get more sharpness in the background. But very enjoyable.
