Jan, I believe the bright patch is a scar from a removed tattoo, but I'd have to ask her to be sure.

Jim, I'll be posting more...some with a black background.

    Thanks

  1. The secret to truly enjoying the Algonquin area is to slow down and take your time, as you've done. I try to spend at least a week up there every year. Managed to do that in two chunks this year, though backpacking Western Uplands on the May long weekend cost me about 2 pints of blood. Great exercise though...waving my arms constantly, carrying 65 pounds of gear, and walking 32 km in 2 days - because if we'd stayed another night my girlfriend would have, quite literally, gone insane with the bugs. I could tell she was losing it when she got a crazed look in her eyes and started stuffing toilet paper in her ears to drown out the buzzing of the mosquitos. One actually bit me on the lip!

    But I digress...

This is very nice. I like the colour one better, which is weird for me.

I have to get me the same lens/filter rig that you used here. I'm going to do a lot of landscape work in South America this winter.

That's the difference between a very large bank of old factory windows (in the shots you mentioned) and a couple of smallish softboxes in the studio. Maybe I'll move them in closer next time.

    Thanks for your comments!

Yes! I got a new 47 year old Rolleiflex a while ago. It's a treat to use. This was my first time in the studio with it.

And yes, this is a single light. I like to keep things simple sometimes :-)
