    Night Train

Clayton, I agree about rating and comments. I have trouble getting them as well. I am not sure why you want to hand hold in low light with no flash. It can't help but make the complete picture blurry. If the bars in the foreground were sharp or you panned with the train and it was sharp, this would have been a real neat shot. I believe the idea of the shot is very good. Please drop by my page and let me know what you think. Maybe we can all get better together.

I believe the dark sky doesn't do much for this photograph. Try cropping a lot of the sides and top out so the snowboarder appears larger. Leave a little more room on the right side than the left. I like the effect of the flash "freezing" the snow.

The composition is ok. However, I believe your light meter was fooled by the brightness of the snow. The snow looks grey. Try bracketing your shots by 1 f-stop + and - and use a polorizing filter. That might get your whites whiter and give more distinction in your clouds.

This is super. I love the dark feel to the picture. The mist at the rocks gives it a nice spooky feel. I hope you took some more pictures while you were standing here. I would like to see the same angle with more of the ocean on the right. I really enjoy this print.
