  1. Thanks for this Marc. Actually I did crop out the bud near the edge, also cropped out some of the vignette, if you look at the first picture in the thread. The second picture was the original uncropped version. I like to include buds in flower shots, even dead heads, as they help to tell a story. The lens is a Rokkor-TC 135mm F/4, which has a multi blade near circular aperture. Here's a picture, showing it with the Minolta MD to Minolta AF adaptor. You may recall that when Minolta introduced their AF system, they used a completely different lens mount - much to the disgust of owners of MD mount lenses. An adaptor was available but it had to include a glass element to maintain infinity focus, to the detriment of image quality. My adaptor is third party rather than Minolta's own. Thanks again ... the lens:
  2. Can you explain in what circumstances the error appears? In what mode, with or without a lens, when putting film in etc?

Weir on the River Soar, D100. The early Nikon DSLR's are much more sensitive to IR than later models.
Interesting set Mike. You achieve an intimacy with your subjects without any suggestion of being intrusive. I don't mind the slightly erratic framing etc, it even reinforces the immediacy of the occasions. PS this is the third time I've tried to add this review. It wasn't saved before because I didn't realise that I have to give a star rating.

  15. Great write up on an interesting camera, I see the EL series as something of a transitional type between the mechanical Nikkormats and the FE. Wasn't the last EL version badged as Nikon rather than Nikkormat / Nikomat? And it seems to have been an early example of the trend towards all-black bodies as standard.
  16. Princess Charlotte's left arm - the sleeve of her cardigan does not quite line up with her hand. It's a massive storm in a teacup.
  17. Well, it might not be acceptable to go back to old forum posts and edit them. But I don't see any reason why captions and tags can't be added to one's own gallery pictures at any time. I don't think photo.net will ever be perfect, but it does seem that many users have moved on from fretting about the site, and are making the best use of things - and of course new members will tend to accept the site "as is" and get on with it.
