I love the simplicity of it, but would prefer the white/blue horizon to be lower in the frame.
I think that would enhance the impact of the tops of these grasses.
(also notice a 'dirt mark' in bottom left corner, could be dirt on lens?)

Nice, simple, great colours and play of light and dark zones, interesting human element all combine to make this an excellent portrait.
The arm and hand play a strong role (in filling an otherwise "boring zone") but do not distract from the face. The shirt colours and even the pattern (which could be distracting but isn't) balance the rest very well.
My only critique is that the eyes could be a tiny bit sharper, and I might consider cropping about half of the right edge between the ear and edge of frame.
Very personal, very moving.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment and critique.
Always appreciated.

I think it would be a good idea to crop off the white thing on the right - it is distracting from the nice brass part, which for me is the main subject. In fact here I might consider a drastic crop to also eliminate the spokes of the wheel. This would leave you with a more abstract image, but I think it would be stronger.

Great idea and very elegant execution.
My only nitpick is a theoretical one: where does the odor of a flower come from ? the petals, the "heart" but this doesn't detract from you excellent shot.
Difficult subjet, very nicely done - especially colours.

You certainly have conveyed the busy-ness of this intersection. I like the fact that there are some stationary cars (right) and some driving into the scene (top right) - this adds to the feeling of congestion.
Two things I might consider: maybe crop away the blue sign on the right (? although it provides a frame), and try realigning the verticals on the bottom left lamp post (Photoshop), neither of these are critical just things to try.
Nice to see the pedestrian light on the "walk" signal !! there's potential there for another crop to emphasize just that light in a sea of streaks.

I like the movement shown in the water and the cool blues. I think the photo would be even better if you cropped some of the top off. Just leaving a band of the tree zone, about 1/3 of the height or less, IMO.

Great use of the railing to emphasize your model.
I think here it might be better either to crop symmetrically tighter to avoid the post on the left, or to crop asymetrically (1/3 2/3 or similar). For me it would work very nice asymetrically, since her outstretched leg leads left to right.
Nice light and muted colours.

This beautiful and very moody shot has the ability to make me homesick! (I used to live in Belgium).
One can sense the early evening approaching and a damp chill descending on these "flat lands". Very atmospheric.

I like the calming mood you have created here - very zen.
Your recent floral shots evoke a different mood than your quirky creative studio work.
Interesting.
PS I have been away from Photo.net for some time. Glad to see you are still around!

Finally a clock photo that doesn't show 10:10! Check out clock and watch ads - always 10:10.
Simple.
Powerful.
Tick.

I like the simple lines of the composition and the way you have emphasized just the white lines and curves (not the body of the guitar). I find the brightest part (curve bottom 1/3) to be a bit soft (either not focussed or some sort of glow applied ? or are my eyes just tired today?). I'd prefer it just sharper, in fact I think the centre of that curve should be the sharpest part of the image with focus falling away top and bottom.

Thank you for critiques of this photo.
The purple blister of hair oil is about 1cm diameter, photographed on
glass table top.

its the distribution of drops in 3 size groups that makes this fascinating IMO
cool to be at the pool side so early in the day - what a good start!
as you know I'm a fan of your photography
this one has a feel-good factor to it - no tears for me!
thanks

Wonderful light and colours. Your patience waiting for that magical moment was rewarded!
Loads of oxygen - as often in your landscapes.

Great shot. Although the compsoition is centered, it feels works well. The background details add interest, except perhaps for the slightly bright rectangle at top.
I wonder what the hand-in-the-bag is about to pull out.
I'm not getting feelings of sadness or lonliness, but this fellow looks drowsy.

I like the use of horizontal lines or nearly horizontal lines in this photo. It's good IMO that the top line of the boat doesnt fall on the horizon line. There's also an interesting symmetry between the duck-shaped object lower left and the right edge of the boat and its shadow.
