For years I've shot with Nikonos V's and I can truly apreciate how tricky it can be. You executed this superbly, the mother must be so happy with this one.

This is a fantastic effort. Having illustrated a book on aquariums I know how much of a pain in the butt shooting in these places can be. Also getting a nice sharp shot of your subject is bloody difficult.
It's obvious it's an aquarium but that in now way detracts from a good overall shot. I would have liked to have seen it a little brighter however.

I did originally crop the people out too but felt the picture lost a lot of ballance without them so I left them in.

I took this shot around lunch time near San Marco Duomo in Venice.
I was shooting a store window with white balance set for tungsten
when I turned and saw the light through the pillars. I forgot to set
the balance back so corrected it in PS later only to discover I
prefered the cool blue cast so I left it alone.
Please let me know what you think. Thanks, Darren

Results of an Ice Fishing trip I assume? Definantley original and an interesting composure.

Fantastic shot showing this much admired bird as a stone cold hunter. Well done on the timing on this one.

A good effort but I would like to have seen more of the action where the wave hits the lower wall and much less, if any of the wall in the foreground.

A nice composition but it lacks contrast.

Please leave a comment, good or bad. Thank You.

Great color and a nice sense of movement. The water coming off of the moped and the rider looking truly miserable really make this shot work for me.

I took this photo during a sunrise shoot to Bosque Del Apache New
Mexico last year. (It's actually two photos) I wasnt 100% happy with
the way either individual image turned out so I layered the two
images in Photo Shop, changed the blend mode to soft light and
tweaked the levels of each individual layer to achieve the final
result here. Please let me know what you think. Thank You.

I took a couple of mins to go through the files and thought I'd share this one from a different angle. By the way the original wa shot with a 20-70 as I recall

Thanks for all your comments guys, it makes a change to see constructive discussion on an image as opposed to the simple ratings people usually give.
I dont know why the Elves select the images they do but in this case Im pleased they did.
I took this photo whils visiting my daughter on a trip to London earlier this summer and she decided she wanted to goto the museum so I took the camera along in case I saw something.
As far as the crop is concerned I always attempt to frame the scene in camera and try to avoid cropping images latter (sometimes a nessicity I know)
It has been interesting to see some of your variations on my shot and to read some of your comments. I know this shot is a touch cliche of this particular building but there wern't that many other possibly angles.
If you have the time I'd apreciate it if youd take a look at the rest of my gallery before making your mind up on just one photo.

Thank you all again and happy shooting.

A goth friend of mine asked me to create a portrait for her so I gave
it a go.
Not my usual style so I thought I would put it up for critique.
Any comments welcome
Thanks, Darren
