darren m green 0 Posted February 20, 2006 I took this shot around lunch time near San Marco Duomo in Venice. I was shooting a store window with white balance set for tungsten when I turned and saw the light through the pillars. I forgot to set the balance back so corrected it in PS later only to discover I prefered the cool blue cast so I left it alone. Please let me know what you think. Thanks, Darren Link to comment
jim_g.1 0 Posted February 20, 2006 The sunshine contrasting the shadows was the first thing that got my attention to this photograph. When the larger version loaded up my first thought was "they forgot to set the white balance" and I was going to take points away for that. Then I read the comment you left, and the color cast grew on me. The only thing that I would change would be the distracting people (upper right) but even they could be there as a point of reference. All in all a very well composed image. Cudos. 6/7 Link to comment
darren m green 0 Posted February 21, 2006 I did originally crop the people out too but felt the picture lost a lot of ballance without them so I left them in. Link to comment
jim_g.1 0 Posted February 22, 2006 I can see to that the sun rays would have been lost if the people were to be cropped...good choice not to crop them... Link to comment
