I like the concept but I have seen other examples of the same theme that seemed more effective to me in conveying a threatening message. What I liked about them was that they were presented in B/W which to my eye put more emphasis on the gun w/o all the distraction of background colors. Also the guns were held more at eye level so that the guns aim seemed more on target. Another distraction with this photo, again with the color, is that she is squeezing so hard that it's making blood collect in her skin under her fingernails...that redness really draws my eye away from the pistol. I would have liked to have seen both the front and rear sights and aligned right at the lens...that would be more chilling.

I think your DOF is right on, putting clarity right on the gun and the BIG barrel.

If you think my points hold merit, I'd love to see you try it again.
