  1. Hello,

I generally like to put the fill light close to the camera position and set it to 1 stop less than the main light. Another thing to remember is when using modeling lights, it helps to have the area you are shooting as dark as possible, then the full effect of the lighting you've set up is apparent. Here is an example of my typical set up.

  2. Mark, I shoot alot of Ilford Delta 3200 and I'm very pleased with the results. I rate the film at 1000 and develop it in D76 straight for 9.5 minutes at 68 degrees. Tons of shadow detail and the negatives are easy to print. I have used TMAX 3200, but I like the tones I get with Delta better. Another alternative would be HP5+ pushed one stop. As John mentioned, you can't beat zone focusing at f11 as far as speed and flexability. (There's a few examples of 3200 at 1000 in my folder if you want to check it out.)

I finally got my hands on a Leica M4-P! Now I can shoot much more "quietly" during piano recitals, the end of roll rewind of the Hexar RF can be louder than you may think. (My only complaint as far as the Hexar goes.)

    Bob
