1.
Hardly "world's first". Nikon did this 30 years ago for manual focus telephoto primes via a 1.6X teleconverter.
:-)

 2.
See here: http://www.photosynthesis.co.nz/nikon/accessory.html#35-xx
and here: http://www.photosynthesis.co.nz/nikon/accessory.html#xx-70

Find your 35~70mm lens model on the left (click the links to see a photo of the lens) then look under the "Filter" column to find your filter or lens cap diameter. It's either 52mm, 62mm or 72mm.

 3.
I think Nikola has a Coolpix S3300, dropped it and impacted the lens, and got a "lens error" message which a user repair has not fixed.

 4.
F4 manual can be downloaded here:
http://cdn-10.nikon-cdn.com/pdf/manuals/archive/F4-F4S.pdf

 5.
All viewfinder info in the F4 can be automatically backlit via a switch under the shutter speed dial for night viewing, including the ADR (aperture ring numbers).

 6.
I used both at the same time, but it has been a few years now. Like Dieter, I don't recall a significant difference in noise level between them. Neither one is what I would call discrete with respect to shutter/mirror noise or film advance. The F4 does have a "continuous silent" advance mode that is quieter than the normal single frame advance mode, but it's far from silent.
