Great composition! In India, white is the color of funerals...for me, this photo suggests death (white) encroaching on life (colors). Too bad about the pigeon's sacrifice... -
Great use of colors - you've kept it simple, and it really emphasizes the snake's beauty. I like the lack of intrusions / distractions in the photo (I suppose the use of flash brightened up the subject, while darkening the background, in relation to the subject)...it's a striking photo...good work!

I love the simpliciy of this picture; however, I'm partial to not using the horizon to evenly split the picture. In this particular photo, I find too much black in the foreground; perhaps zooming in (or cropping to make a "panorama" type photo) would make it more powerful...? I love the colors - I think you even managed to get a subtle beam of light emanating vertically from the sun...superb! -
I echo the above sentiment; a slanting horizon (unless intentional) is a pet peeve of mine as well. In this photo, making the horizon flat would have deepened (and emphasized) the angle created by the line of boats; that may have added a nice contrast to the flat horizon. I love the split sun reflections; I wonder how this photo would have looked if done vertically, with emphasis on the sun's reflections... -
Beautiful textures to go along with beautiful colors...and I like the fact that you only have the three colors (red, green, blue) that make up the entire spectrum of colors...awesome! -
