Hello. I am a chair.
-
Grooooovy, baby. YEAH!
-
Nice. Pleasing lines in the wood. I like the overall tone.
-
I like the intersecting lines. Somehow it makes a totally boring shot interesting.

It's hard to do the Golden Gate and SF skyline without shooting something cliche. I think this is a good attempt to get away from the same old stuff. Would have been interested to see the tower off-center a bit.
-
Great. Almost makes it look like a tropical island.
-
Fair shot, but I'd rather see something around the moment of impact.
-
Other than the distracting bright spot at right, I love the surreal look and feel of a painting.
-
I dig it. The surrounding slide mounts are dull and gray, and then this color image punches right out.
Two things: I think the slide image could have been more recognizable, because at first glance it's hard to tell what it is. The striking color mostly makes up for this, though, I think.
Second, I was thinking a better prop other than the shutter release could have been. But I think you did a great job picking a light-colored prop so as to not detract from the main image with a distracting line.
ROck on.

Yes, John. And now she's denying it all, of course.
But don't you just love her sophisticated wit? Maybe we don't like her images, but at least she can come back with some really mature put-downs.
Oh, and may I also point out her ridiculous vendetta ratings (like I give a rat's ass)?
Hellloooo, moderators? Are we moderating?

Hm, that's funny, because I remember that same address adorning your profile in the past.
Next, another photo.netter posted an email he got from you with the exact same email address. Plus, it had your signature slaughtering of the English language; It's quite characteristic of your sophisticated ad hominem attacks.
Third, I'd like to point out the not-so-subtle difference between your new email address and your old one:
Old: juliemightyfine8#lycos.com
New: mightyfine7#bigpond.com.auPretty darn clever, Julie, but didn't your mommy teach you that lying was wrong?

Cool angle, cool pose, cool outfit.

Good capture of the feel of Bucharest - an absolute shithole. Gritty, polluted, poverty-sticken, crime-ridden, wonderful people.
I, too, have friends I will go back to see. Whether or not they will be alive and waiting for me, I can't be sure. Such is Romania.

I like the way the lights in the foreground and background play off of each other. One is bold, the other is humble. Good juxtaposition of elements.
-
This might be a good shot to do some black and white tone experiments with.
-
I think that with the surfer placed towards the bottom left of the shot and then showing more ocean you'd get more suggested interplay between the two subjects, not to mention a more eye-pleasing shot.
-
Nice tones, though I think the exposure on the stock could be burned in a little.
-
Er, that's an interestingly shaped, uh, thing dangling from its mouth.
-
Not sure what to make of the dark part in the image. I *think* it's a mountain shadow, but could it be film problems ...?
Perhaps a bigger crop would help eliminate my wonder.
-
There's a nice interplay between the docile bird and the raging water. Good composition to further illustrate this.

There are three elements, however, that weaken the image, in my opinion:
I think dead centering would have worked work better in this shot if all elements were more symmetrical. Take away the railing and put in an even flow of people behind the subjects and I think dead-centering would have then been appropriate.
A slight crop to remove some dead space at right would put the subjects off-center, thereby correcting some of the imbalance in this shot.
Personally, I think this looks better.
For artistic merit, I think this photo deserves POW though in general I'd say it's not quite up to par. Rui, keep up the good work.
