I find the monochromatic nature very appealing. However -- I second others' opinion that snow should always be overexposed by at least a full-stop to make it really look like snow, in your case it probably needed more but -- understood problem with long shutter speeds ...

Mauro, guessed right -- the blurry leaves indeed hurt the pic.
BTW 28-105 nikkor is not the right lens for such photos with foreground subjects. The 24mm or 28 mm primes would have done a better job, also allowing a faster shutter speed (but you would lose the "flow" of water with faster shutter speed, of course)
That said -- this is still a pleasant pic.

I love the minimalism

Hey -- good shot! Only wish you shot at their eye-level

A brilliant shot!

Very amusing

Nice! Wish background were of a bit lighter tonality

Clever inclusion of the nearest tree in the foreground, that's what gives this photo depth

Outstanding composition (apart from the cut-off petals on the right) and lighting, slight problem with DOF.

Hi, sadly this is not one of your best shots but this could have been one! This was a nice photo opportunity.
An angle of view from above would have looked so much better! I would have looked at the insects from the top rather than from the side as you have it here.
As with most of your other photos, unsharp mask and color correction is very much needed.

No ratings yet??! A lovely, lovely photo!

Getting closer would not have worked as good. Love the texture of the trees and how the eagle blends into the scene. This is a true animate landscape

Very nice

This is one of the nicest nature abstracts I've seen in recent times. Well done

A little closer and vertical shot would have worked better?
Diffusing the light would work well, too --

Your folder is a treat for bird lovers. You do amazing shots with your lenses! Simply admirable

Oh! Beautiful. This is beautiful!

More background blur would be better and appears the head is not in sharp focus. Apart from that, a beautiful photograph.
BTW, the scan might benefit from sone unsharp mask. I somehow suspect the original slide is a lot sharper.
