Would DVD's from other regions play on a computer? If so...

Also check out cameraquest.com for a few nice pictures.

So does my current version Summicron 50, but I cannot tell how close the sets of blades are to each other. Must be fairly common.

Ed:
I was under the impression that one needed to let the film sit for 5 minutes in the water after each inversion cycle - then dump, refill and invert. I could be wrong, but I think that is what Ilford recommends. Works fine for me.
Good luck,

I have a copy of it on my computer at home. If you want it send me an email and I can send it to you. It is in color.

There was another source on this group a few weeks back, but I can't find it in the archives.

WOW, thanks for all the responses!
You have convinced me that the proper lens is a collapsible Elmar. I can see how the other lenses would make the camera unbalanced.
I am sure that an newer body would be more user friendly, but I love the simplicity of the II (D). Now I just have to find one in good shape.
Thanks much,

Hello:
I am curious what owners of Leica II's think of their cameras. Anyone
shoot theirs often? How accurate is the focus? Could I shoot a
Summarit with reasonable accuracy? If not, what do you think is the
limit for lens speed? Are they really that hard to load? Anything to
look for when buying? Anything that would keep it from being a decent
shooter?
Thanks for any responses!

21 - earlier this year.

Can a .58 rangefinder from a TTL be put into an M4? M6
classic?
I understand that it would be quite expensive, but being able to
shoot a 28 comfortably in an M4 would sure be nice!
Thanks much.

This may be a silly question but... does it include screw mount cameras and lenses? Performance descriptions for the LTM lenses?
Thanks,
-
Might want to consider a Canon or Contax auto-focus SLR. The choice of
lenses is much greater, and both are of very high quality. You could always
keep the M6 for when you needed a small, quiet, manual camera.
Just a thought.
-
Anything less expensive?
Thanks,
-
I am trying to find a good reference book for all LTM and M lenses, and would
like some suggestions.
I am not terribly interested in it being up to date, early 90's would be fine.
However, I would like to know all of the variations that were made of each
lens, and serial numbers if possible. Basic performance reviews would be
nice, but MTF graphs and detailed analysis are not important to me.
I have found these for sale:
"Leica Lens Practice" by Dennis Laney, "Identifying Leica Lenses" by Ghester
Satorius, "The Leica Pocketbook" by Hove, "The Leica Lens Book" by Brian
Bower, and "The Leica Lens Compendum" by Erwin Puts.
Do any of these stand out? Other recommendations?
Thanks much,
-
I have heard "f/8 and be there" a few times, but I am not sure what it means. Can someone please explain it?
Thanks,
-
Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't there suppose to be a fix for M6
rangefinder patch flare at Photokina 2002?
Did I miss it?
Is it suppose to be coming out in the near future?
Thanks,
-
Joonas:
The EO2 error is a bad shutter and is quite costly - you can find the exact cost
in the archives I think.
I would take a much closer look at the Contax T3 and the Ricoh GR-1V. Both
are reputed to have wonderful optics, and are quite a bit smaller than the
Minilux. The GR-1V is hard to find as it is not officially imported to the USA,
but it is available at Delta International.
This website:
http://www.geocities.com/rainforest/vines/9273/pscam.html
is a great resource for info on all of these cameras.

Bill:
I believe that Lutz's scanner can only handle half (or some fraction) of the negative at once, therefore he must make two scans to get the entire negative. He then joins the two with photoshop to create the entire negative.
Correct me if I am wrong:^)

Does anyone know of a good photo shop in Geneva, Suisse? I will mainly be
needing film (prefer Ilford HP5 and D3200), but a nice Leica shop would be
very fun as well.
I will actually be staying in Ferney Voltaire, but I will have a day to head into
the city.
Are shops open on Sunday?
Thanks much,
-
Yes, it is perfectly normal. I had the same concern when I got my M6 Classic a few months ago.
-
BTW - Leica USA did not have the information.
thanks,
-
I found a great deal on a Focomat 1c, but it is (of course) missing
the negative carrier. I am fairly confidant that I can have my
machinist friend make one for me, but I am totally unsure what it
looks like or what the dimensions are. Does anyone know where I
might be able to get this sort of information, short of finding
another one to copy?
Thanks,
-
I have read that the Calculite XP has a LED readout, but what does that
mean? Does it actually show a number (EV value, f-stop, etc) or rather just a
set of arrows like in an M6?
Also, does it take a reading with the push of a button (like most digital meters),
or does one have to fiddle with the dial like a manual meter.
I am looking for a good low light incidence meter to accompany my M6 - any
other suggestions?
Thanks,
-
Thanks all for your responses - I'm keeping the filter. I must say that I
questioned Leica QC when I got the filter. Happy to be wrong!
Rollei AFM 35 made in Germany?
in Leica and Rangefinders
Posted
The AFM 35 is made by Fuji - so doubtful that it is made in Germany.
Take a look at the Ricoh GR-1V if a 28mm lens works for your needs. Available at www.deltainternational.com for about $400 last time I checked. Otherwise, the T3 is suppose to be great.
