    Sand Tufa, Mono Lake

These formation were created when calcium rich fresh water mixed with the alkali water of Mono Lake.
  2. The tufa formed in the sand, but it now exposed due to low water levels in the lake.

    Untitled

Hello Tomasz, Nice image, but the small, out-of-focus leaves on the left side and the bright reflections on the upper right are quite distracting. Try cropping them out, or consider darkening the ages to help hide them. Bringing down the highlight values, or/or burning (darkening) the sky would help too. All the best, Greg

    Coso Range

Yes, I definitely prefer the higher contrast and more dramatic technique.  I have various versions of this image that I've made over the years.  For this version, I was trying out a 'softer, more gentle' approach, but it seems that you and I think the same!
  9. Yes, the tighter crop does seem better.  I work with that, since I think I prefer it too!

Hi Michael, Very nice image, but to me, the leaf is too dominant and detracts from the great colors and form of the butterfly.  Maybe darkening (burning) the leaf a bit, or cropping off some of the bottom would help. Nice work!

    Lush - - Candiac

Hi Tony, My sentiments exactly!  Photography is also my escape from politics, press, etc.. I like this image, but there might be just a bit too much foliage along the bottom.  Perhaps crop a bit off just below the bottom-most flower. Nice work!

Great capture of the moment and keeping the viewer involved in the image.  I find the bright spot on the floor on the right a bit distracting, perhaps try darkening, or removing it.
