i love this image. and yes, i think a single photo can capture the soul of a city....as can a little portfolio. maybe a single image has trouble capturing a particular city....but it can certainly capture CITY.....metropolis, vibrancy, and lots of people.....even if only shadows in the image or the city is empty.....william klein is a great city photographer. louis faurer. and many many images on photo.net
maybe we shld have a CITY category? elsa dorfman

i agree w/ evereyone. this is one of the best pictures i've ever seen on photo.net i clicked on the photo someone right above me suggested a look at, and it was wonderful too.

best of the series. was the blue in the background put in there? maybe it wd be better the way it actually was. w/o playing w/ it digitally. me. i like the hair all over. her look is great.

who cd resist taking this picture. all those lines.

i think they're singing. i love it.

i think this work is great.

i agree, tilt, what tilt. it works. and it is interesting and instructive to see how much better it works than the secondary versions of it.

very good shot.

this is wonderful. of course it made me think of the robert frank photo on the bus. you don't suffer in the comparison.

i like this, but i wd be curious to see the whole negative. i just can't get into the tight crop aesthetic.

it's very very nice, but while you had this lovely girl in yr studio did you take any w/ her whole hat and w/ her looking at you......what was her dress like. she seems like a great little subject so i hope you took a lot of shots and can share them. whose idea was it for her to look like she is listening to angels?????? I cd actually live w/o that look. it's too gooey for me. show us what else you did w/ her. And get her mom to bring her back.......e.

i agree w/ scott. this is a terrific picture. it works in black and white. the girls are good subjects. i'd do more w/ them. I'm always curious abt cropping....does the picture exist a bit further back? it's perfect as is, but i was just curious if you made other shots. I guess i'm curious if it is digital, only because so much fiddling around is possible in digital. congrats. don't let those girls get far away. they are naturals working w/ you.

maybe this wd work better if it wasn't so tightly cropped. or be more interesting. forgive me, what is the guy in??? where is his right hand.... how far away were you?
abt yr kid. maybe you shld take portraits of that process. the doctors, the cast, the friends...do friends sign casts anymore....though 2yr olds can't write. oh well.....there's lots to photograph there.

gee, i don't like it at all. the woman looks so vapid and empty. i don't understand what photoshop did to improve it. did the person whose portrait this is like it???is it for a young actress? is it for a lover? forgive me, but i am far away from this kind of portrait.

i'm more interested in seeing the woman's face. she seems more interesting than the picture allows her to be. i like her messy hair. i don't like the roses AT ALL. she shld look at the camera. what is she wearing, etc. is this what people look like when they actually smell flowers? i have to look.
