I was doing some photography for the Old Mission-mainly interiors, but the window really "grabbed" me. The patterns on the wall are actually part of a restoration of he mission, which for me added to the interest. Thanks again, Phil

+1 to all the above comments. I especially like the use of the vertical composition; it seems to add such depth to the scene.
Congratulations, Phil

Very nice-especially in the larger view. The stones on the altar are a great addition to the symbol of St. Peter on the altar piece. Congratulations, Phil

Thanks for viewing and comment. I was doing some photography work for Old Mission Santa Barbara, mainly interior shots. I wanted another view of the front of the mission for myself-but a bus load of tourists made that impossible, and I just looked down and saw this image. Thanks again, Phil

A wonderful shot;almost surreal. Congratulations, Phil

Very nice combination of the butterfly and background colors. My suggestion is that you might consider cropping some from the left hand/bottom side of the image. Well done, congratulations, Phil

Thank you for your comment. I thought the collection of puddles in your gallery were excellent. I was hoping for a different view but the number of tourists made that impossible, so I tried this view. Thank you again, Phil

The lighting and composition go together to make this a wonderful image. I can almost smell the salt air. Congratulations, Phil

Really nice shot. I find that images like this recall the experience of the trip. Congratulations, Phil

Thanks for your viewing and comment. Trying to achieve images that reflect some sense of their fragility and beauty is a real challenge. Fortunately as I have noted in earlier posts our garden provides a gathering place for both hummingbirds and butterflies. Thanks again, Phil

Wonderful "story telling" image. The challenge now is to make up the story. Congratulations, Phil

Wonderful image. It is the kind of a scene that invites a quiet or even meditative mood for me. Congratulations, Phil

Thanks for your viewing and comment. I think the mood of this ghost town is better captured in b & w in most cases. Thanks again, Phil

Thanks for viewing and your comment. Luckily these subjects are literally in my back yard. Getting good shots and lighting is a real challenge. It's a lot like trying to make a still life with the subject continuously moving out of the frame. Thanks again, Phil

Thank you for your viewing and comment. I have found photographing them is very rewarding-as well as challenging. Today in my garden I happened to see two of these Swallowtails together-there wasn't a photo opportunity, but I realized the time I have spent photgraphing them has enhanced my appreciation of their beauty. Thanks again, Phil

A wonderful image; the colors all work together and provides a classic mood for the photo.

I really like the B & W treatment. In particular in addition to the comments noted earlier, the tonality bring out the aged look of the building. congratulations, Phil

Thanks for your comment. So far this has been a great butterfly season-and these guys are 30 ft. from my back door! Thanks again, Phil
