I grabbed this shot from Glacier point in Yosemite NP towards the
eastern ridge line of Sierra Neveda mountains. ~135mm, f/5.6, ~1/4
seconds, hand held with Vibration Reduction. 1 stop graduated ND
filter. I didn't dare to stop down any further to increase the depth
of field since I am already pushing VR to compensate by 5 stops. I
would appreciate any comments and suggestions on subject,
composition, and technique (other than the hand hold part).

More flower, less Ford.

There are probably a million sites like this in each country in the world. Why choose this one as representative of Finnish countryside?

Couldn't do anything about the pole. In about 1 minute the light from the sun peaking out throught the clouds would have passed over the peak to the otherside of the mountain.

I adjusted the picture curve to minimise detail and maximize shadow on the triangle. I wanted the triangle and the tree to direct the eye to sentinal rock and its right, and convey the feeling that only the tops of this peak is catching lightt from the setting sun.

Are those terraces a part of an open pit mine?

This shot begs for color.

I saw this sorry looking boat sitting on cinder blocks under a mossy
tree next to US Highway 1. But someone still loves her; a ladder is
propped against her stern, a new gyrocompass and a freshly overhauled
engine sits in a shed nearby, awaiting installation.

It was actually about 3:00 PM. It was a mostly overcast day. The shot was taken from a boat.

That the bridge seems to looms without support over the viewer is, for me, the main element of the picture.

I was struck by how majestic the brige looked soaring into the clouds
and looming over the choppy water. This the picture do it justice?

Maybe crop it like this.

A flash might help. The man on the left needs some lighting. He is not as conspicous as he should be.

Superb. You've redeemed yourself for that VW beetle shot.

This is a shot of the Solar Telescope at Kitt Peak National
Observatory in Arizona. The simple geometric lines of this complex
instrument appealled to me.

Diminance of the state over religion? End of separation of state and religion? Gradual ursurpation of the higher secular American republic by lower religious forces?

Originality : 0
To be irreverent is one thing, to emulate someone else's ireverence so that you too might catch the coolness of being ireverent is without merit.

You found beauty even in over-industrialization. Outstanding.

No, it was definitely not a double exposure. The focal length might have been somewhere between 135 and 180. It was shot with a the Vibration Reduction lens. No way I could have hand held it at 1/4 otherwise.

Yes, indeed. Based on the muzzle excavator, tubular muzzle brake, and the coincidence range finder in the turret, It looks like either a M-46 or a M-47, definitely Korean war to late 1950s. Sorry, I just had to.

Maybe the tank should be level. If some light can be used to show a little detail on the front of the tank, it would be great.

This shot seems to mainly documents an aerial refueling, and not really an attempt to crapture the beauty and drama of the sleek fighter jet. A shot capturing the entire F-16 trailing further away from the KC-135 would be more dramatic. I always thought the drague-type refueling makes for more dramtic photos since the plane being refueled is further away, and at nearly same level as the cameramen instead on being so close and bnenath the camera.

This shot was taken about 3 minutes after sunset. The western
horizon was crystal clear, but a huge thunderstorm was rolling in
from the east. The setting sun lit the thunderhead into a purplish
orange, casting the landscape underneath in beautiful purple. Nikon
F100, 17-35 AF-S lens, handheld, no filtration.
