  1. I think this shot would imporve if you 1. Move to the right by a few hundred feet to get about half of the tower in sunlight. 2. Add a warming filter to warm up the cold blue tower against the blue sky. If you wait until sunset to get the tower bathed in orange glow of low, setting sun, the shot would improve further still. Sorry for the formularic suggestions, But I think those formulas would work here.
  2. I grabbed this shot from Glacier point in Yosemite NP towards the

eastern ridge line of Sierra Neveda mountains. ~135mm, f/5.6, ~1/4

seconds, hand held with Vibration Reduction. 1 stop graduated ND

filter. I didn't dare to stop down any further to increase the depth

of field since I am already pushing VR to compensate by 5 stops. I

would appreciate any comments and suggestions on subject,

composition, and technique (other than the hand hold part).

  3. This shot seems to mainly documents an aerial refueling, and not really an attempt to crapture the beauty and drama of the sleek fighter jet. A shot capturing the entire F-16 trailing further away from the KC-135 would be more dramatic. I always thought the drague-type refueling makes for more dramtic photos since the plane being refueled is further away, and at nearly same level as the cameramen instead on being so close and bnenath the camera.
  4. This shot was taken about 3 minutes after sunset. The western

horizon was crystal clear, but a huge thunderstorm was rolling in

from the east. The setting sun lit the thunderhead into a purplish

orange, casting the landscape underneath in beautiful purple. Nikon

    F100, 17-35 AF-S lens, handheld, no filtration.
