Sayan,
The haze can be cleared by a good rain that takes the impurities out of the air sometimes. In my case the park was having forrest fires so the haze got thicker as the trip went on. However, I find that the haze depicts a real sense of depth in the photo, and I welcomed it in every landscape I shot.

Thanks for the comments. The technicals are 4 exposures, one of the left at 24mm on a Canon 24-70L at f/16 for 2.5 seconds (spotmetered the highlights at ~+1 1/3 stops) another at 5 seconds (spotmetered the shadows at ~-1 stop), then another two exposures on the right. Merged them all together in Photoshop and masked to keep all the detail that one exposure could not have captured on Velvia. Major work removing the blue cast of the morning, increasing contrast, and saturating. No filters.

Good eye for detail. I might adjust the exposure a bit with curves, might not.

Hans,
I do see the foreground tree getting lost a bit in the background. As for the technique employed, I used the digital blending technique as described on the Luminous Lanscape more or less. I also used plenty of adjustment layers in photoshop to control the tones in the sky and ground.

The sky looks like that perfect sunset/sunrise that you wait months for. Great photograph

Pleasant colors and composition. It is very contrasty, but I'm not bothered by that fact. For once I think an all around photoshop filter has improved an image.

Yet another in my "blank youself" series. This shot was both
technically challenging and an impactual dissapointment. I bet you
can't even tell that the me on the bottom is covered in egg yolks for
that "fresh from the colon" look. Also of note, this is my first use
of Fujicolor Superia 400 as a substitute for the ill scanning Tri-X I
had used for previous shots. So, tell me what you think? Too
harsh? Any obvious flaws that make you know it is photoshopped?
Criticism appreciated.
