COLD! I love it-the foreground and background (sky?) share the same tonality. The isolation of the stand of trees makes me feel alone. I like the fact that there is little to provide a sense of scale

Although I've seen shots like this in the past, I have had terrible "luck" making one of my own. What I like about this one is the implied frame with the dark foreground, black background, and darker body on the right. The near center head/neck really serve to draw my eye to the translucent wing!

Wow! great tonal range and a stunning shot! As the picture was loading I first thought it was B&W.

Good framing-Italy, as does much of old Europe, seems to beg for this knd of treatment. I like the off-center placement of the steeple and the great detail in the foreground shadows.

Too bad for the upper left (moddle ground) the jumble of trunks makes a mess of what is a rather good picture, Perhaps later in the year when the vegetation adds some stronger color?

Seems to me that the lower third of the picture can safely be left off--not only is it mostly out of focus, but it adds little of interest and deatil. If you crop the picture just above the mid point you will have a very provocative image. The rather plain sky does add to the power.
