This was done as a project when I was in school to make something
look like something it wasn't. Done in Weston like fashion. What do
you think?

Hector,
Thanks for commenting on one of my pics, this led me to your folder. This one really jumped out of me with the limited DOF. How perfect that the out of focus section behind the fish is light! had it been darker, I don't think this would have had as much an impact. Sharpness and framing is perfect. Cheers.

All I can say is wow! It is as close to perfection as one can get. The only constructive criticism I could give would be to lose some of the rock on the bottom. Other than that, the lighting and mood are perfection! 7/7

Amar,
I will have to thank Allen for leaving unfavorable remarks on one of my posts. Because of it, you stopped by my folders and left some nice comments. This in turn got me looking at your work and I must say I am glad I did! I am particularly drawn to this image in this folder. So much expression in her pose and so much beauty. Your skills are very obvious. Keep up the great work!

I am captivated by the expression and the stare. The only thing that keeps this from being a great portrait is the extremely flat lighting. I really like the scarf and the way it surrounds the central focal point of the photograph (the face of the model) but I just wish there were a little more depth to the portrait. I feel that if the fill light were off or toned down about a stop and a half, it would create more modeling on her face and significantly reduce the shadow on her neck.

Thanks for the comments thus far! Agata, the frame (at least my intention) was to be black. What color does it show up on your monitor? Phil, as for her eye, I am torn. My initial thought was the same as yours, but upon further inspection, I think it adds some mystery and drama. She is only four and the look I got was so spontaineous I had no time to adjust hair etc.
