Excellent use of colours...I think the composition is fine...nice and tight, no wasted space.
-
I think you need to correct the blue cast in this shot

Hum, sky looks a little surreal...

If only that daisy weren't cropped by the frame....

Nice logo

Travis - there's next to no PS work here. It was an overcast day and the sun was behind the statues from where I was stood....one of the few occasions where a centre-weighted camera reading was the correct one to create silhouettes and a moody sky.
-
..was scouting round the Central Market trying to find some breakfast after a heavy night out....I liked the way the light was coming in through the windows, but not the bad hangover...
-
I feel the work done on the sky is over-powering the building; it's too distracting, which is a shame as the tones on the stone work are rather splendid.

A very good study of a man in his working environment; excellent choice for B&W.....wondering if it would make a better more complete "story" if we could see a shoe?
-
I think the lighting in this shot is fantastic, almost like a classical oil painting. So many different textures and surfaces represented in the shot...could almost be there.

I think the composition in this shot is great...a timeless moment of resting workers...I like!

Hi - yes see what you're saying, but your interpretation didn't strike me without your prompt. Maybe you could make it more obvious to the viewer by darkening the areas away from where the light source would be falling? (I had a quick look through the rest of your pics...wow, some excellent stuff there; I'm quite jealous!)

This shot captured my attention, no doubt due to the strong definite graphic nature. It makes me ask the question what is the (real) figure looking at...think it would have been more "complete" if he were looking in the general direction of the poster (though I realise that this wouldn't have been possible given the constraints of the poster, etc). Either way, an arresting shot.

Never seen anything like it before.
-
Excellent capture of moody expression
-
Interesting feel to it (figure's hair colouring and scrunchee hairband thing detract from a period feel though)

Heh, free and easy, but a pity about the distracting background

It's taken in Sepilok, a rehabilition centre for orangutans in Borneo; definitely not a zoo. The many of the apes are semi-nomadic, with some returning to a feeding platform every day. Hence the rope.
I'm not sure who's correct on this: I think the rope is a key to the story. I will agree that I should of included this in the description and not left the viewer guessing.
Image rules: CONTENT Images should follow PSA guidelines for nature, i.e. they should not show the "hand of man" unless it is part of the nature story told by the picture. For example a picture of Barn Owls nesting in a barn is OK, as long as the owls are the main subject. On the other hand a picture of a deer in a local park with people or cars in the background would not be OK. A bird perched on a fencepost is OK, but a landscape with a fence or a building in it is not. Cultivated flowers are excluded, as are domesticated animals (cats, dogs, cows etc.).

Does the orang-utan reaching out of the frame work...? I *think* it
gives a bit more interest to the pic.
Fujipress ISO800 and a 90mm Contax on a G1... I was pleasantly
suprised at how sharp it ended up.

Different! Looks like a (ancient) documentary photo that a geologist might have taken in times past. Composition is good I think.

Tricky exposure to make....a bit burnt out

A very arresting image
