  1. <p>"They need new beta testers or something. Quit giving cameras out to the A%$ kissing people to test and maybe the "testers" would report issues that can be improved instead of "Its the best camera ever made by Canon" BS! If its beta and preproduction, there are tons of issues to be improved before release."</p>

<p>Exactly! Heck, as far as I am concerned, I am the BETA tester! and you know what, the camera is flawed! I can't trust it at all- when it is on, it's on. I mean, the sharpness is amazing! BUT, that is only 30% of the time. I was at a wedding last Saturday and I was showing my assistant- How the AF was so messed up it missed focus in every singe af mode available., then it will turn around and work- This is the exact thing I was worried about with buying a new canon body. I have been with canon since I started in photography over a decade ago- and had I had the money, I would have just went with Nikon and scrapped my canon stuff.</p>

  2. <p>I used al servo with the 70-200 of the bride and groom walking down the aisle and had OOF shots. Indoors I was shooting the couples first dance with the 24-70 and alot of images are oof and they were not even moving- (no AlServo for the dance) I used my 40D's, 30D' 20D's 10D and even my 1D MKII in the same situations and did not have that problem.<br>

I am going to study the AF more and see if I can get this thing together.</p>

  3. <p>Does anyone know how to get the best out of this camera or give me a suggestion as to where I could go (I live in Southern New Jersy- Canon Jamesburg is an hour away) to try and get the right settings for AF accuracy.<br>

I used this camera at a wedding last night and I am not impressed at all. My 40D (when new) out performed this camera hands down.</p>

  4. I was faced with this same scenario. I was anticipating the release of the new 5D MKII but did not want to wait until they released it (good

thing because the ended up releasing it some months after it was expected) I sold a bunch of my equipment and got a second 40D and the

10-22. I now feel complete- it was the wide angle I had been missing. I wish it were a 2.8 but to be honest since it is a wide angle it

inherently has greater DOF anyway. I use it all the time for weddings and it has performed flawlessly. Now with the huge sensor of the new

5D Mk II I am glad I ended up going with the 10-22, who needs files that big anyway?

  5. Be careful to read the fine print and find what your responsibilities and liabilities are. You don't want to catch yourself in a situation where

you were supposed to document the hidden stuff (in side walls - electrical, plumbing etc) and have to brunt the cost of ripping said walls

out and inspect at a later date.

See if the contractor can send you a list of duties to review prior to the meeting so you can be prepared.

As far as charging- $250/week will bring in $13,000 to your company- $500/ $26,000 - I don't know what your time is worth so I just wanted

to throw those numbers out there. I do know that the construction people don't really know either and will probably see either of those

numbers at the end of year as high- but we must educate them.

  6. I now shoot with 2) 40D's. I am very happy with my lenses- I have a 10-22 (wish they had a 2.8)24-70L 2.8, 50 1.4, 85 1.8, 70-200 2.8L IS

    & 100-400 5.6L IS.

I had the 15 fisheye, 17-40 4L, 24 1.4L, 1D MK II- sold all that and now am very happy with my current gear. Having two identical bodies is

nice. I would like full frame and trade the 10-22 for a 16-35 but with them coming out with the monstrous 21MP 5D MKII- forget it- I will stay

with my set up. I like it and it works for me.

  7. I am not worried about filling up storage space for myself, I am worried about the disks I give my clients. When I used to fill

up one dvd I bought a nice one disk leather holder, now I have to buy 2 which is obviously more expensive than 1. I have

not even seen a 3 disk holder or 4.

hey do sell the 8.5GB disks but they are very expensive and they do not have them in lightscribe.

  8. I am curious to something. My 40D puts out 28mb files. My old 20D used to put out 18mb files. I noticed that the 50D puts out 43mb files

and I am assuming that the new 5D MK II will be putting 60+mb files.

Does not storage become an issue?

I know that for weddings I fill up 2 DVD's with about 1,000 images from 40D camera.

I don't want to have to go to 4 disks with a 5D MK II- am I missing something? Am I doing something wrong or missing a step somewhere,

or am I the only one with this problem?

    Thanks!
