allancobb replied to Bill Blackwell Images's topic in Leica and Rangefinders
Hello everyone! Thanks again Bill. Yes, I tried but the thread didn't survive the transition. So, here's a scene from downtown Sitka, Alaska atop Castle Hill that I attempted earlier: Bronica RF645, 65mm f/4 Bronica Zenzanon-RF, 100TMax And I notice the new format is the same as the Leica User Forum! -

Cursed Panatomic X

I just shot a roll of '91-expired FX yesterday; I exposed it at ISO 25 and gave it an extra 30 seconds in HC-110B (at 20 degrees C the sheet call for 4+30, I gave it 5) and I was very happy with the result, very little base fog. Leica IIIg, 50/2 Summicron (v.1 Collapsible) -
Many thanks Michael; I had two opportunities to visit the Tracy Arm (including this last cruise) and was denied each time, the first due to a passenger medical emergency, the second due to fog. Maybe the third time will be a charm! Where are you going next? Maybe we'll cross at the same time. :)

Just returned last night from an Alaska cruise, many thanks to Bill for getting the thread going this week! Here is a scene atop Castle Hill of downtown Sitka, Alaska with St. Michael's Russian Orthodox Cathedral in the center. Leica M240, 28-35-50mm f/4 Leica Tri-Elmar-M Asph (at 50mm) -
Nice compositions, exquisite detail and tones. Those CV lenses easily pull their weight.

Thank you Christopher. The Summitar, despite its age definitely has its unique character! And yes, to see the temple in contrast to its surroundings forces a balance between old and new; to me was akin to seeing the Alamo for the first time in downtown San Antonio.

Although not answering your question directly, here’s some more info from the Leica Wiki site: SYOOM - Leica Wiki (English) The forum discussion links may reveal something more specific. -

Your reference is a good one. There are several regular participants of that forum whose knowledge is encyclopedic and will go to great lengths to provide an answer. -
