  1. Happy New Year everyone, and welcome to Week 1, the first of 2024 and the Leica and Rangefinders W/NW Thread! Here's a winter scene the next morning after a nighttime snowfall taken in January of 2022.

  2. Many thanks to Bill Blackwell for starting the W/NW thread this week! And a belated Merry (Happy) Christmas to all.

Here's a shot while I was experimenting with the Canon 50mm f/1.2 LTM lens, wide open, on my Leica M240 using live view and the EVF a few years ago.

Classic Version I Summicron 50 B/W shot. I like it. The IIIg's parallax correcting bright line finder really helps with street shooting. If you can find one in great shape, it balances well with the aluminum/black Canon 50 1.4 ltm lens.

Thank you Christopher. I have a CLA'd Canon 50/1.4 LTM, I've used it many times on my M240, but I agree, I need to pair it with my IIIg more often.

And I always love using the IIIg; it's an an elegant "hybrid" between the classic Barnack LTM bodies and the M3 that actually preceded it.

I've followed this weekly thread but never posted here before. I've always owned rangefinder cameras or at least rangefinder shaped cameras. I don't know if the X-Pro1 qualifies as a rangefinder but there probably won't be many responses today...so what the heck...Cannery Row, X-Pro1, 35mm F1.4 lens.

Very nice and welcome! We're pretty laid back here as far as what qualifies and your shot looks very "rangefinderish" to me!

I probably shouldn't even be signing in anyway, I hope the security issue gets fixed soon, but I wanted to check to see if anyone else went out on a limb.

    Cheers, Allan
