  1. "The Watchman," along The Watchman Trail, Zion NP, Utah Bronica S, 75mm f/2.8 Nikkor-P, Kodak 320TXP, HC-110B
  2. Thank you Arthur and great portraits as always. I'm not a fan of mid-summer myself and always look forward to autumn.
  3. US Air Force Memorial, Arlington Virginia Pentax K-7, SMC Pentax-DA 18-55mm AL WR
  4. Welcome everyone to Week 2 of 2022, the Leica and Rangefinders W/NW Thread! As we are firmly entrenched in January, here's a neighborhood winter scene the day after a recent snowfall. Leica M8, 35mm f/2.5 Voigtländer Color-Skopar PII
  5. Awesome explanations Alan, much appreciated! One thing I noticed, while T400CN was on the market, its mask was barely orange at all, more like a pale tan. Its successors, BW400CN and Portra BW400 reverted to a deeper orange mask much like standard color negative film making them more difficult for standard darkroom printing. T400CN was somewhat closer to (but not completely like) XP2-Super in that regard.
  6. Red Canyon, Dixie National Forest, Utah
  7. Outstanding series, proving the versatility of medium format, not limited to just landscapes or the studio.
  8. Happy New Year!! Pentax KP 50mm f/1.4 SMC-M Manual Focus Lens at f/1.4
  9. Welcome and a Happy New Year everyone to Week 1 of 2022, the Leica and Rangefinders W/NW Thread! I'm pretty sure I posted this before recently but I thought I'd still kick off the New Year with a scene from Times Square, New York in 2019. Leica M8, 15mm f/4.5 Voigtländer Super-Wide Heliar (v.1 + Adapter)
  10. Navajo Trail Hoodoos, Bryce Canyon NP
  11. Many thanks, and yours looks quite fine even after the downsize, nicely done! A blessed New Year to you as well.
  12. Welcome everyone to Week 52, the final week of 2021 and the Leica and Rangefinders W/NW Thread! Here's a shot of the Potomac River as 2021 "sunsets." Wishing everyone a prosperous, healthy and Happy New Year! Leica m240, 90MM F/2.5 Summarit-M
  13. Ludmilla, thank you! It's amazing to see the lavender glow in the sky there when a few clouds are just in the right place during sunrise or sunset.
  14. Thank you for the words and a nicely done image by you as well! We arrived at the parking area very early (before 7 AM local time) and we took one of the last three spaces left in the Overlook Trail parking lot. I was a little worried about the cloud cover, but after seeing a few breaks here and there, I though it might actually work out. As it was, we spent well over 2 hours at the overlook just waiting for the sun angle to be just high enough and the clouds to just open up enough to get some good shots. I used an entire 220 roll of TXP there plus many digital images with my Leica M240, the best one here. You're absolutely right, it wasn't easy and it was a test of patience and luck!
  15. Normally I would be using a yellow filter as a matter of course when shooting B&W film, but that particular day was mostly cloudy with small breaks allowing the sun to poke through only in one or several random spots, so I actually didn’t have a colored filter attached. But the clouds also were relatively thick where they existed and added a degree of drama on their own!
  16. As 2021 is nearing its end and we are at the Holidays' doorstep, I'd like to welcome everyone to Week 51 of the Leica and Rangefinders W/NW Thread! With a Holiday theme in mind, here's a little depth-of-focus experimentation using a Canon 50/1.2 LTM lens wide open on a M240 employing focus-peeking and the EVF. Happy Holidays and Cheers, Allan
  17. Sunrise and Moonset over Mesquite Flat, Death Valley NP
  18. Thank you very much! The old Bronica comes through and I do find myself enjoying the square format, not only aesthetically but in camera use.
  19. I think it would be quite memorable! Actually there were more than a few motorcycle groups on that road, it’s the Zion - Mount Carmel Highway (AZ Route 9) and it includes a 1.1 mile tunnel through the prominent rock on the left.
  20. Thank you Arthur! An excellent series from you as usual, and a blessed and Merry Christmas to you as well.
  21. Apologies for being a day late, it's been one of those frantic weeks... so, welcome to Week 50 of the Leica and Rangefinders W/NW Thread! Here's a view from Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. Leica M240, 28mm f/2.8 Elmarit-M (Version 3)
  22. Excellent, thank you! I would like that very much. And that park is on our short list. Cheers, Allan
