VERY nice image. I love the way the tendril is holding the stalk. Just make sure that the DOF is sufficient (the tip of the stalk is out of focus). A smaller aperture and tripod mount will solve that.

David has shown what can be done to an already good picture that is well composed! Tonality is markedly improved now!

Wonderufl image. your best in my opinion. 2 questions- Could you have improved the sharpness of the name on the church (tripod maybe?) and 2nd- what is it that you called 'neutral' in your w/b?

Joyce, Yes, it looks pretty good in a vertical format also (I just did a quick check).
Audrey, The tree was at the other end of the lake and this is with a 400mm lens which tended to compress the mist also. Just looked very serene!

Critiques please?

Hard to believe that you found this in Japan! I recall seeing an American (ok, in Osaka) stubbing his cigarette on the street and putting it in his pocket!!

Beutifully composed!

Wonderful image!! I wish I had taken it. Again, watch for the bright zones (foreground). Do you think that the scanner is doing this or is your slide/print washed out in this area? You may want to check.

Good rendition! I see that you have an 'eye' for images. Keep it up but watch the entire frame. There is too much flare resulting in a reduced contrast due to the light behind the guy.
:) just my 4-anna worth!

Critiques prefered. :)

GREAT image. But in my usual critique, I'd Rx to crop the street out and see what you think. :)

VERY nice image. Your best one yet! Tonality can be improved, but I am not the one to ask how. Else, perfectly composed.

Moody and (for some) nostalgic image.

Dilip,
You photo may just be quite ok! Just check the original slide and see for yourself. The scan may be the culprit! Also, a sunnier day would have produced harsher shadows, so this one is good!

Critique please? Comments preferred! :)

I'd crop the skies and the brownish grass in the bottom part. ...just my opinion. :)

One of the finest images that you have. Perfectly composed. The only thing off here is the exposure of the building. It is hard to do in these circumstances I know.

Critiques please?!

Aman,
The image is very powerful, but it gets lost because of all else that the camera picks up- the men in the background (including Mr. AB!). The scanning or the exposure was a bit off and that perhaps led to muted colors.
Take a look at the attached image and see...
just my char-aana worth :)

One of your finest images! I LOVE the way you take the ordinary and transform it if you will. Definately inspirational images! Though in this case, I think I'd prefer the B&W version.
