...hopefully, a bit wiser, but have kept this image to remind me of the progress I have made.

VERY nice watercolor effect. I LOVE images that seem to belnd into paintings. This is certainly one of them.
Good job!

Nilesh,
VERY nice subject! I like the texture of the sand.
Just curious if you used a tripod. If not, I'd strongly recommend it. You will be able to use smaller apertures (and greater depth of field) as well as try out different compostions.

One of your best images. Although, I'd hate to see them being seen as 'natives' and others walking by gawking at them. So, I took the liberty of changing the mood a bit by (what else?) cropping a bit. See if you like it.
just my 4-anna's worth!

One of your finest images! I was thinking that it is a bit too red, but then again, what in Matheran isn't? :)
I esp. love the expression in the younger kids eyes. Keep it up!

Thanks Dilip! The shot was taken mid-afternoon, but it was cloudy (that is why the rich colors).

I concur. The best thing I would do to this one is to open up the shadows a bit...but I am not sure it is even needed!
Some things you can't do much about post-click. e.g. the boys elbow at the adge of the frame. My 2-cents is that you should try and get it right the first time, else you will get frustrated when you find that P/S is not a panacea! Sorry.
Else, the image is VERY good. Don't do much to it! :)

One of your best images! I do like the image of the eye too, but I think this one conveys a lot more than others. Only issue is the tonality that could be improved a bit, otherwise, creativity and vision come wonderfully together here. All the best!

The bottom vine distracts. Else, a nice image! :)

Avneesh,
Certinly one of your best shots! This one tells me that you have the capability and the techniques right.
I'd shoot and practise the art if you will more. Try and look up books on composition and play with the DOF using the aperture more than you have.

Akshaya,
Of all the images, I think this one (self I assume?) I find the most balanced. I find it a useful excercise to look at good images and see why they work. Look at this one- simple, good bokeh, no distractive elements.
Many of your iamges have a great potential and I'd highly, very highly recommend that you invest in a tripod and pull the camera out of the program mode and start using smaller apertures (for landscapes and closeups). Look up tips if you like on my site http://www.ajoyprabhu.com/album/photo-tips.html.
The critical thing is to have an 'eye' for good images which you have. Rest follows... :)
Majhe 4-anne.

Nice shot! Cropping only the top 2/3rd would probably look better.

My perspective: I am a minimalist. I try and convey simple ideas that viewers can grab rightaway. That is not necessarily the RIGHT way to do it, but one that I find most attractive.
Do take a look at the tips I have published at my site: http://www.ajoyprabhu.com/album/photo-tips.html :)

Dipankar,
The image resonates beautiful with me. Can imagine being in my parents native village!
Just my take on the composition is that even with what you have, there is a lot and (Dave is right) the wall is indeed not adding anything to it. I'd crop it like so (attached) and try and open the shadows a bit.
Just my 4-anna! :)
