I think this would be better as a black and white. I have just started trying to convert some of my color stuf to B&W to see how it looks.

The clouds are great, but the ruins are too dark especially on the right.

I really like the way the outline of the hat fades away into the dark on the right. I think the darkness makes the guy look he is in a more relaxed posture that you probably woudl not be able to see if it was a tight crop around his head..

I agree the triangle would have been nice. What about cropping out everything but the guy with the US flag? I think that image is good enough to stand on it's own.

 

The composition is great and the clouds really make the shot.

It's amazing what you can find in your backyard. I'm not sure if this

will apeal to anybody else but I like it.

Well this is one of my first shots with my new D30. I had been

looking at this building for awhile and finally decided to go take

the shot. I adjusted the saturation and contrast in PS a bit.

Beleive it or not I didn't use photoshop for anything in this. I had on camera flash and it was hand held. I have done a lot of motorcycle and mountain bike races where I would do this panning technique so I guess I've had enough practice.

 

I really need to learn how to adjust my levels properly in Photoshop though.

I had to shoot the merry go round for a brochure for the city. The

problem was there never was more than 2 kids at a time on it. So I

Took my trusty models (my kids) and shot at slow speed. I would like

critique on the shot but more specifcally what else I could have done

in this situation.

Lighting is great, expression is great, but it could stand to be a little sharper.

Very Very nice. Maybe a reflector aimed at the bark could have brought out a little more detail, but I don't know what the conditions were.

I took this some time ago trying to get something different at the

local arboreatum.

 

The scan gives it the hazy look, the print is much better. My main

question is about the flowers in the front. I intentionaly blured

them to bring focus on the fire hydrant, but that is starting to bug

me now. What do you think?

The colors are great, but I would crop the sky a little also. And something bothers me about the really dark trees on the bottom left. I'm not sure what you could have done without burning the bright sections out though.

I think it is a little underexposed also. I might have also cropped out some of the tree on the right...well maybe not. the colors are good a little more detail in the clouds would be nice though, but that's hard to do when you are taking a picture of something as bright as the sun.

I think I would crop all of the mountains in the background out as well as most of the right side of the shot. I really do like the cactus needles on the left But they may be lacking a little maybe a little lite from the side would have added some more detail in the needles.

Reflector on bottom right I think would be good. I like the blur in teh background but something is just not right about it. It may be the shape but I am not sure. If I can put my finger on it I will follow up.
