yeah it needs a little more context. I think if you could include someone swimming in the lake, or standing on the edge dressed like they are going to go swimming might be kinda cool.

This year was my first year to get good firework shots. The thing I did different was make sure I had something on the horizon to get the idea across. You can see some examples in this folder

This is very nice. I have been trying to get some fence shots like this for a few weeks now but none of them have turned out like I want. This gives me renewed inspiration to keep trying.

You should try and go back when there are more clouds and use a polarizer. If you are lucky you can line a big fluffy white cloud up with the center flag so that it doesn't blend in with the sky so much. You might try backing up a little and getting the flag poles lined up on the thirds. You did a real good job of freezing the flags on what looks like a very windy day -

You can always go back and take the shot again when the moon is in the right spot! Well maybe not!! I kinda of like the dark sky.

I think a polarizing filter might have helped darken the sky a little. Maybe you should have waited a little longer before ou took the picture. Otherwise it is a great shot.
