She was actually photographing another sparrow, when this little one
arrived... to check that the picture was correctly taken :D

I liked the haze, before Sunset, and the shape of the church's tower.
Your opinion?

Comments are much welcome. Thank You.

A bientot.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. I appreciate :) Kind regards.

Thank you for you comments. I like the sharpening effect on the texture and agree that the white halo around the umbrella is not particularly nice. Maybe more accurate post-processing would be needed...
-
I tried a bit of sharpening, USM, Edge... to emphasize the texture of the painting and the writings on the wall (original picture)
Your opinion?
-
The hanging umbrella, the colors of the wall and door, the texture of
the old painting... it was as if time was suspended around those
temples of Luang Prabang.

Perspective from a Tuk-Tuk...

I arrived in Bangkok after a 48hours travel from Paris... in this noisy-dusty-stressy City, heading for a 6 months journey around the World.
This picture does represent well my state of mind that night: not quite grasping things...

Yes it was handheld. A tripod or a stabilization would not have been that useful, as the ray of light is moving quickly -> a fast shutter speed is necessary if you want to see it. For the same reason, it is impossible to increase the depth of field with a smaller aperture...
I must admit that it is not particularly sharp (even at 1/125e, 70mm on 1.6 factor)... did I touch the focus ring in manual while waiting for the ray? Maybe... :(
Right: a version with correct focus on both elements would be interesting (composite of 2 images? multiple expositions? TSE lens?)

I removed the low values (dark) from the original photo with the curve tool, in order to emphasize the shape effect. What is your opinion about the photo?
Someone actually found the Make and Model... can you?
-
Thank you for your comments. I tried twothirds, oneone, 16/9 and all of them actually (quite a long job). I preferred that one.
I wonder wether the "1-1" rating comes from a person who actually scrolled down to the bottom to see the flag... :)
PS: you can also use this picture as a calibration chart - free of charge for personal use.
Edit: there were more 1-1 and 2-2... but they were all removed =>[?] Not that I care that much about ratings, though...

I really wonder what people will think of this one... :)

The weather was so-so. I took the chance, my camera and the metro to
go to the Concorde place... and it worked: the sky was beautiful for
sunset.
I liked the balance between the Eiffel Tower and the Street Lamp (and
all those small lamps to lighten the black area). Your opinion?
-
I cropped less of the original picture, darkened completely the cross in order to increase the contrast with the sky/trail, instead of using too much USM. It's probably slightly better this way... (previous version shown here, for comparison)
-
Yes, I sharpened it... and rather 'heavily' as you noticed...
It is probably possible to make a better job: I will retry differently (less USM, more Masking on the cross). Thank you for your comment about composition.
-
"Technically" speaking, this picture is awful: I was at full reach
(210mm) almost full open with just enough stability/speed to get the
shot... moreover: it is heavily cropped (I couldn't get closer to
frame it the way I wanted). Still, I like the composition and its
trail line.
Your opinion?

Javier: thank you for your kind comment. No problem about your English... (I am not a native English speaker myself and understand the issue :D ). You have some great photos in your Portfolio! Cheers

Serie about a Street Lamp at Sunset. Probably the one I prefer in the
serie... for its poetry :)
Thank you for your comments

Serie about a Street Lamp at Sunset. I liked the luminous trail around
the black street lamp.
