  1. This photo scores because 1) great texture on the window, 2) great contrast on the weatherboards, and 3) good juxtaposition of the horizontals in the roof, wall and window with the diagonal cut made by the roof edge. Detail looks a little fuzzy though.
  2. Brighton is my home town, so I've seen more shots of this building than... well... I've seen quite a few. Good to see that you got some foreground in it. Maybe could've been cropped slightly to lose the leaves that intrude on the right margin? Or maybe they could be photoshopped out. (PS, It's the 'Royal Pavillion')
  3. I would like to see this cropped in to the apex of the Gothic arch, losing some at the sides to focus on the entrance and the steps. Alternatively, take it out more to get more of the facade above the pointy bit (!).

     

    Looks great in B&W though. Good detail and constrast.

  4. Great photo. Maybe you got a little carried away on the intro (remember, most of the people on this forum *are* twice your age, and therefore a little curmudgeonly). But you are right to be proud of your work.
