hey, thanks -- it already looks better because she isn't so brightened up in your color slide (of course the chimp isn't making the point so clearly now). i still think that blur is either too much or too little & it doesn't work, too bad because I really dig the idea. Sorry for remaking your shot but what would you think of making one step back, exposing for a chimp and have her more in focus but a silhoutte?
-
since that is most probably a digital manipulation (correct me if I am wrong) I will only say I like it very much (btw, your violet shot is not so good and dead boring).
-
pretty much all is correct (except an artificial sky comepeting with the plane for my attention) here and pretty much boring -- it's hard to make a pile of metal fly.
-
it looks out of focus/soft focus -- that pretty much kills it for me + a bit overexposed on the left; flipping the image right to left would make it easier on me as well. otherwise, nice composition.
-
good story but i can't digest the PS work on the boy -- can we see the original shot?
-
i have a similar shot taken during the nyc marathon but mine was an accident.

... but it is still good.

You probably had already seen this but if not, it might be interesting to check it out -- very similar style and subject in her Fountain Silhouettes folder.

yeah, ducks in the pond and an automatic rifle .... i remember we talked about split-tone some year ago or so -- you made this incredible landscape and I had my Magdalena shot up; oh well, i'm so taking off, my broom is ready :0)
-
that's a cliche
-
that's a good shot.
-
yep. it's like shooting a deer which is already dead. nice tones tho. & i'm so graceless lately, heh.

This is about as bad as it gets. Totally un-imaginative and you even managed to screw up a simple composition -- see that bush sticking out on the right -- to make it a perfect kitsch you should have framed it without it. I just can't believe you have guts to complain about my ratings. I think it's time to report your mate ratings, revenge ratings, and vengeful comments to the abuse@photo.net -- and since there are few others whom you openly threatened (that's very un-cool, you know) we will sign a letter to Jeremy Stein together. I hope that will cool you down.

but I am turning the counters off because of the revenge ratings.
but you can spit on the screen all you want.

gotta run but it's excellent

:0)

why that blue tint on perfectly fine B&W?

Check out this shot for what I am after http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3280207

an awesome photograph -- you seem to show so little but say so much with this framing, just brilliant.
-
holy chit what an excellent snap - hope he's OK
-
if your placement was intentional and if you asked them to look terrified, you are a genius. If this is just a snapshot, you got lucky cause the whole thing works on a bizarro level with this viewer (and that wall flower makes it perfect) and that's disregarding the painful context you provided in your comment.

i think you would be better off w/o that barrel or by placing that barrel in the very right corner and moving whole composition to the left. the toning is ok but adds little. nice exposure & blurr.
