I think the second photo in the series is the best

150 - 500 mm Sigma would be my choice , not too much $$$ and it's a well received glass by many users

-

I would get the D7000

I would pick D 7000 with 18 - 200 Sigma OS.The new D 7000 seems to have great reviews and does just about anything you hope your camera will do and the Sigma 18 - 200 OS is very fine lens that covers most of the optical coverage you may need ,it's a very sharp, very well built zoom lens plus it is about 300$ less than the Nikon 18 - 200.I love Sigma glass and Nikons of course don't need any extra introduction,we all know they built very fine products.Good Luck.

I so often read that Prague was lucky to escape the bombings of WWII and it's usually Americans who think so.Yes, Prague escaped the bombing but so did most of European cities during the horrible days of WWII. The cities that were bombed most were in Germany .Hundreds of square miles of densely populated cities in Germany were totally leveled by relentless Allied bombing raids.
Yes, Coventry suffered lots of damage and London got hit pretty badly and so did Rotterdam,Warsaw,Caan or Stalingrad but for the most part European cities managed to survive without much damage. Rome,Paris,Barcelona,Madrid, ,Prague,Amsterdam,Vienna,Zurich,Lisbon and Liverpool with Edinburgh were dodging the bombs quite well.
Then there was Hamburg,Berlin, Dresden,Koln,Leipzig, these cities became a fiery inferno of biblical proportions.

Hard Drives I believe do much better job that disks when it comes to the archival properties.Just about all data gathered by TV stations ends up on hard drives or a magnetic tapes.

Yes,it's time to upgrade but you don't have to go too exotic [too many $$$$$],for the start I would get something like Lumix ZS3 or if you wish to go the DSLR way 600 - 1000 $ buys you a great set.

Yes,some time ago I dropped my 3CCD pocket size Panasonic right on the surface of a concrete sidewalk,I was totally petrified at that moment. The little camera bounced off couple of times like a toad .People that walked by me stopped at stared at me,it all felt like a slow motion movie.I didn't even want to pick up the camera again , I was sure it's completely kaput but sometimes there is this thing called LUCK. With the exception of little crack on the display nothing happened to this very well built video camera.I still enjoy using it and it works great.

Years ago I arrived at this summer camp in Colorado and as soon as I opened the car door at the camp's gate my dog quickly took off to check out the area.Suddenly I could hear some voice reminding me that my dog should be leashed but it was too late.Until today I'm not sure why but this fellow was targeted by my dear Nick who masterfully sprayed his property nestled in the grass. How was Nick able to pick just his backpack that was placed amongst other 20 - 30 pieces of baggage is beyond me.I guess it's the animal instinct that some of us lack.
I don't have to remind you that everybody at that camp remembered my dog's name from the day one.

I'm afraid there is no quick solution to these bloody conflicts. We as individuals can only try our best to treat other people with respect and we should always believe in equality and liberty for all. There are ideas out there of racial superiority, religious ideas of higher purity and other primitive believes that prevent the goodness in humanity to suppress and defeat the ideologies of exclusivity to which some groups subscribe.
