1.
Greg,
I don't want to hijack this thread, but is the same comment regarding software compensation for lens aberration true for the 4/3rds system, as well? I have an E620, which I use as a walk-around camera. I've only opened a few images in Lightroom 3. They seem to be OK. I use the Olympus 25mm almost exclusively.

 2.
Technically, yes they will "fit" in that they will mount to the camera. Depending on the vintage of the lenses for the N50, you may or may not get all the features, such as all the metering modes, etc. when mounted to the D90. And, don't forget there will be the 1.5X crop factor using a full-frame lens on a DX body.

Disclaimer: I'm not fully familiar with either of the bodies, so you may want to wait for a more knowledgeable response, or do more research on your own. In general, my answer is accurate.

 3.
"Never, never take a CF card out of a camera."
What strange advice. I remove and replace cards all the time in my D100, D200 and D700 cameras. What do you do if a card is full when in the field?

 4.
Madison - it's very rarely the equipment i.e. a specific lens or camera body, that makes good photos. It is almost always the vision and patience of the photographer. Rather than spend money on another lens, you might save a little more and look for a weekend seminar hosted by an experienced landscape/wildlife photographer that you can attend. When I started back into photography after a 25 year hiatus to raise a family and run a business, the first thing I did was spend a weekend at a seminar.
It helped me remember the basics and expanded my thinking about what I could do and how I could do it.
Perhaps you could find something local that would help keep down the costs.

 5.
Matt,
Very nice photo and a good explanation. I'm just starting to use my D700 more, and I'll try some higher ISO options.
I'm also a bass player (not a musician, just a player), but I always take my watch off when playing, thinking it will make me "faster." Not likely.

 6.
Any thoughts on, or experience with, these:
Nikon Coolpix P5000
Canon SX30
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ100
Sony DSC HX 100V (either not released, or just out in some markets)
Interested in experience with shutter lag, ease-of-use, image quality. Leaning toward the Panasonic or Sony because they both have viewfinders, albeit electronic.

 7.
I have used both systems extensively; they are quite different. Mostly handling issues. Perhaps I don't have a good enough eye, but in years of using Pentax 645NII, Pentax 6X7 and Hasselblad, I think the image quality is very very close. My Mamiya 6 with 50mm was better than any of them. I've settled on Hasselblad because I really like the square format.
I would not consider any of them to be well-suited to fast action.

 8.
Thanks to all. I used the Image Capture steps and it seems to have worked. Now when I plug in a card reader it opens LR3.

Now, I just have to figure out how to use the program. Any good recommendations for a tutorial? I'm not quite a beginner, but none of this is intuitive to me, so it will have to start out at a pretty basic level. I'm having trouble even understanding the labels used in the program.

Thanks again.

 9.
That photo has been used for years in Nikon School ads. I'm not sure it is the same camera. I seem to remember it being a 35 mm in the Nikon School ads.

 10.
I just bought a used kit with both zoom lenses, and then picked up a used 25mm. I intend to use it as a "walk-around" digital camera, replacing a film Contax G2 with 45mm. For that purpose I really like it. It is small and light and the image quality is very good so far.

 11.
how does one get more than one photo to display in the classified section? I recently sold some stuff and wanted to display multiple photos, but it would not let me attach more than one. I even tried to attach a second photo via the edit screen, but it simply replaced the first one with the second.
I see others with multiple photos. Do they paste the multiple photos together so it appears to the software as one photo? If so it must exceed the 100kb limit. Thanks for any suggestions.

 13.
Greg - thanks for the quick response. I should have the outfit soon, so your advice to wait is well-taken. I should also correct my original post to remove the reference to the 45mm Nikkor. It would end up a 90mm in this format - much too long.
