I photographed this male Blue rock thrush (Monticola solitarius) while swallowing a worm with Nikon D500, Sigma 150-600mm, f /6, 1 / 1600sec, ISO400. Thanks for your comment

Giangiorgio, you caught this bird at exactly the right moment - mouth wide open with the worm about to be swallowed whole. Dare I say that I've never seen a bird shot like this? The vivid colors contribute to the image's coming alive for me. - - My best always, michael - - Ciao!

Hi Giangiorgio,

we have become so used to the quality of your nature photos that it doesn't surprise anybody anymore when you upload your next masterpiece. I think I realized that again when opening this image, which is nothing less than spectacular. Not only have you photographed a relatively rare species well (even though it has an IUCN 'least concern'-status) , but at the same time frozen an action that is very hard to capture. Very well done! Kind regards, Vincent
