Giangiorgio Crisponi 463 Posted March 12, 2020 Spring has come. This photo of Echium (Echium plantagineum) very common in the meadows of Sardinia was obtained with the focus staking method by combining about 10 photos taken with the Nikon D850, Sigma Macro 105mm, f / 9, 1/250, ISO 64. Pierre Dumas 266 Posted March 12, 2020 I couldn't possibly understand how it was made of so many images, but I see the obvious, it was worthwhile cause I am standing before a pure perfection of a picture, both, technically and aesthetically! Bravo maestro! Complimenti! PDE Link to comment

vincentoiseau 83 Posted March 14, 2020 Hi Giangiorgio, your focus stacking has led to a wonderful result! I must say it's a strangely beautiful sight, probably because I'm not used to it. I even think the few OoF flowers in the foreground lend the image a greater credibility. I know that you wouldn't take leaves or flowers from a plant just for a photo, but I saw a photographer once who used rubber bands to get a flower out of view by gently pulling it and attaching the other side to a stick in the ground. I like the crispness of this image very much. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
Giangiorgio Crisponi 463 Posted March 14, 2020 Thanks Vincent for your very nice and appreciated comment. I recently bought the Nikon D850 which allows focus stacking by adjusting the number of photographs to get everything in focus. In these days that we are forced to stay at home for the Coronavirus problem, I am dedicating myself to macro in the home garden, as a background I use opaque black cartoons to isolate the plant without removing it from its natural environment. The screen of the camera is adjustable and allows me to compose the image without having to lie down on the ground, given the age. I'm glad you liked it. Link to comment
