This photo was taken at dawn shortly before the sunset of the supermoon behind the cathedral of Cagliari from a hill about 1 km distant with Sigma supertele. Nikon D500, Sigma supertele 300-800mm, f/7,1, 1/20sec, ISO 100. Thanks for your comments

Giangiorgio, the camera and lens you used certainly contributed to the creation of this image, but it was your artistry and skill that really mattered. If I may say so, the image is almost too perfect. The extraordinary detail of the moon's surface combines with its azure and green/blue, and this amazing sight contrasts perfectly with the Cathedral's architecture and warm colors. Extraordinary, simply extraordinary! It more than deserves the recently awarded Editor's Pick. - - My best, michael

Hi Giangiorgio,

I let the opportunity to shoot the supermoon go; I didn't think it would look so good. With this extraordinary photo you prove how well a supermoon photo can look in the hands of a skilled photographer who also has a vision. Michael said it all in his comment, the contrast in color warmth is spectacular. You have chosen a very good location for this photo. Well done! Kind regards, Vincent

Unbelievably good looking! God only knows how is something like this done! Must be very long focal length lens involved if it's not a montage! Bravo, maestro! PDE

P.S. One should read comments first, ha! Ciao, amico mio! PDE

You have indeed some big beautiful moon(s) in Cagliari! - or is it all due to the long tele-lens?
