I have always been fascinated with Dreams. A person could become

crazed if they 'over thought' many of the dreams they had. I find that

some of my dreams, I am able to explain - just by what I may have

watched on the TV, read in a book or on the Internet, or even PN,

just before I had drifted off to sleep. Other times, I am able to explain

the dream when I realize it was part of a problem I had been trying to

solve during the past day or week. Yet then, there are others that I

just cannot explain. Some are so crazy, I have to laugh them off,

knowing I may never figure them out. Perhaps the dream was

fragments of moments I had experienced or seen over a long period

of time. Others!!! I just try to forget right away. Have you ever

awoken and just exclaimed 'Why did I EVER dream that??'. I usually

just try to forget those right away! When I started working on this

Composition, I began with an image of a Stained Glass Window I

had found in Myrtle Beach at a Craft Show in 2011. As I worked on it,

I decided to combine it with an image I took of a Cement Cherub that

I am in the midst of 'redecorating'. I first had thought to bring out the

attributes of the Cherub, but as I went along, it almost became more

Egyptian in nature. (I welcome any visits and of course any input you

may have, many thanks, Gail)

I like your title here Gail. It totally matches the concept of the image. Just like a dream or a vision emerges from a deep and often dark part of our subconscious, this mysterious ancient Egyptian-like face emerges from an uncertain, dark, chaotic past. The decoration on the face makes this composition even stronger. Excellent!

Very effective Gail ! It works really well with the Cherub sculpture , I wonder what it would be like with a portrait ? I think it's well worth trying . Bill

Yes.  Creative, skillful, artistic.  It has to rate a 7 from me - for the processing, creativity and the resulting art.  Excellent work, Gail.

... in the thumbnail I saw an Inca king and immediately after a crowned medieval infant prince. Then ,reading and seeing the composite images I realized  the length of the travel your creativity and skills forced these two composite images materialize. Simply incredible, I wonder where the next travels will lead us to! Chapeau , dear friend, and a well deserved 7! Kind regards,Chris

Strange things dreams, they can put us in places not of our choosing, uncomfortable places that bear no relevance to our waking inclinations.

The concept of combining the subjects was a most a skilful and ingenious one indeed!

The result appears almost Gothic to me, there is a crown or even a halo from the stained glass that allows the subject that revered kind of look.

The image wouldn't look out of place in a church or monastery, it has "classic"  written all over it!

Sincere Compliments!

It was when I noticed the 'lead' lines from the stained glass appearing like a 'crown' that I figured my Cherub had been transformed. My sincere thanks for those kind remarks Alf. The are certainly encouraging. I agree with your thoughts on dreams as well.

thanks for your input, kind regards, Gail

I truly enjoyed working on this one Radu. I often change directions in the middle of a composition when I see what results different blending options offer. It is really interesting to see the image take form. There is always areas that need fixing, this can be time consuming, but it was worth it with this one.

thank you Radu, for your friendship and inspiring presence here on PN, kind regards, Gail
