Landing flamingo-(Phoenicopterus roseus) - I photographed this flamingo landing in the Cagliari lagoons with Nikon D200, Tamron 70-200, F / 2.8, 1/750 sec, ISO 200. Thanks for your comments

Beautiful picture of flamingo landing (to me looks like walking) in its natural habitat! Great technical quality, wonderful colors plus reflections, well composed! Complimenti, maestro! Ciao! PDE

Hi Giangiorgio,

another wonderful capture of the flamingo that shows the landing and the steps the bird takes to slow down further. I like the position of the wings and the colors that we see because of it. Luckily the background was far enough from the bird to be blurred sufficiently, even with this focal length that is 'rare' in your avian images; I have become used to the 300-800 mm and the 150-600 which seem to be your go-to tele lenses nowadays. Very well done! Kind regards, Vincent

Thank you very much Vincent for your careful observations. I photographed this flamingo from the car window with the Tamron 70-200 that I had won years ago in a Photo.net Photo Contests and that I rarely use in bird photos, but on this occasion, the flamingos were very close, ciao Giangiorgio

Giangiorgio, although the image's title is quite apropos, here's another which may substitute for it - "Splashdown!" The colors, detail, and lighting all contribute to the image's appearance and, more importantly, its atmosphere. The bird as a whole partners with you in providing artistry. - -My best always, michael - - -Ciao!!
