Black kite nesting - (Milvus migrans) - I photographed this black kite that is about to carry a woolen ball to line its nest, in the Monfragüe National Park

Extremadura, Spain. Nikon D 500, Sigma Sport, 150-600mm, f/6, 1/1600sec, ISO 500 . Many thanks for your comments

Maestro Giangiorgio. . . . At first, I thought the material in the kite's jaws was a carcass of another bird. Then I read your narrative! The facth the kite is carrying a woolen ball to its nestles not diminish its potential ferocity in defending the nest - regardless of whether it is sitting on a clutch of eggs, or young birds aren't yet ready to fly, or simply to show off its power. You aptly captured its stunning plumage with its ranges of brown hues, and did so with the right degree of sharp detail. The detail in the tree limbs is a very effective companion. - - My best always, Michael - - - - - -Ciao!
