Wayne Sadler 571 Posted February 18, 2022 “Those who awaken never rest in one place. Like swans, they rise and leave the lake…They have seen how to break free. Who can follow them?” Gautama Buddha----Swans in Prague seem to be treated as sacred as cows by Hindus in India. In fact swans are the stuff of myths and legends around the world. Why swans have such an exalted status escapes me. I can see their association with such virtues as beauty and grace but not many other virtues the world has hung around their long necks like peace, loyalty, fertility, purity, wealth, love, strength, etc, etc, etc. Maybe I do see one more virtue – photogenic. Wayne Sadler 571 Posted February 19, 2022 Many thanks, Tatiana. It took a while to work this one out. There was initially too much space between the bridge and the swans. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 266 Posted February 19, 2022 Fantastic work of art, Wayne! I always read your comment and this time I must ask how wealth comes to be one of the swan's virtues? My sincere compliments! Best regards! PDE Link to comment
jekamobile 110 Posted February 20, 2022 Oh, I like that one. In spite of nasty skies looks very peaceful and relaxing. Probably because swans and ducks show no fear or anxiety. Cheers, Evgeny Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 571 Posted February 20, 2022 Thanks, Pierre. I don't get the wealth thing either. Link to comment

Wayne Sadler 571 Posted February 21, 2022 Many thanks, Richard. You note a particular focus of mine of late - what is detailed and what is not. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 571 Posted February 21, 2022 Many thanks, Todd. You point out the areas I struggled with. The tonal values and hues for the longest would not coalesce and when they finally did the distance between the bridge and foreground swans was shortened. Link to comment
