Wayne Sadler 607 Posted February 16, 2022 “Everything we hear is an opinion not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective not the truth” – Marcus Aurelius. I am guilty of judging much of German architecture of a certain period unattractive. Much is made of the blemish on Germany of the stripped classicism architecture imposed on the country during the reign of the Nazi Party. The unadorned buildings with simple façades and air of solidity and uniformity are ubiquitous. Here in the city of Nuremberg, the duller the building the more I felt a compulsion, even license, to render in more abstract ways. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,613 Posted February 16, 2022 Wayne, the painting technique you employed had the possibility of making me more frantic than usual, until I remembered our interactions about the Buddha. Besides the semi-realism added to me emotional state, as in getting back down to earth. I also agree with your take on German architecture of the 20th century. Mind you, I've not been to Germany but have visited Israel twice. Both Jerusalem and Tel Aviv have their shares of Bauhaus architecture. - - My best always, michael Link to comment
tai 3 Posted February 17, 2022 Interesting image with boring buildings, Wayne! The picture gives the impression of movement and street noise! Well done! Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 607 Posted February 17, 2022 Thanks, Michael. It made me frantic too. I confess though a slight attraction to the Bauhaus architecture (some of it) Link to comment

Todd Kraenzel 1 Posted February 20, 2022 Wayne, you are a master of making ordinary images extraordinary! There is certainly nothing boring about this scene as you have depicted it. Warmest regards, Todd Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 607 Posted February 21, 2022 Many thanks, Todd. I used to wonder how some painters could make the ordinary extraordinary. I think what I have discovered is that you see the ordinary as extraordinary and treat it as such. Link to comment
