N°4 - Flamingo scratching its head (Phoenicopterus roseus) - I photographed at dawn, at the first sunrise with grazing light, this flamingo in the Cagliari Lagoon, with Nikon D850, Sigma super telephoto 300-800mm , f / 8, 1 / 1600sec, ISO 250. Thanks for your comments. Ciao Giangiorgio

Hi Giangiorgio,

even birds with a lot of elegance like (the) sa genti arrubia must scratch their heads from time to time, which you have captured with a lot of skill and placed against a beautiful black background, putting all the emphasis on the bird and its reflection. I also like the composition. Kind regards, Vincent

Vincent, thank you very much for your appreciation and great commentary of my photo, I was very pleased with the reference to sa genti arrubia (the red people) as we call these beautiful birds in Sardinia, ciao Giangiorgio

Giangiorgio, Vincent is probably correct in his observation that the flamingo was scratching its head, causing slight ripples in its reflection. Since I have no other explanation for them, I accept his observation. Otherwise, the usual technical elements - composition, POV, color, lighting, and detail - are spot on. However, technical acumen alone was't responsible for this photograph. Your love of nature, coupled with. your indefinable artistic sense, were equally as responsible. - - My best always, michael - - - Ciao!

A delightful picture, Giangiorgio! Looks like this flamingo wants to scratch its ear. Perfectly done! Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana
