vincentoiseau 83 Posted September 30, 2021 On a bright november day I took a walk through the woods near Soest, the Netherlands and stumbled upon this scene, with the late afternoon light playing between the trees and shrubs. I did bring a tripod, but couldn't use it because the tripod mount plate wasn't on the camera I had with me and decided to shoot a photo with a shallower DoF than I had in mind when I saw the scene. Your comments are very welcome. Link to comment
tai 3 Posted October 1, 2021 Enchanting autumn scene and mood, Vincent! I am not confused by the DoF. The streak of light and bright yellow grab attention. I like it! Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana Link to comment
Todd Kraenzel 1 Posted October 1, 2021 Vincent, the late afternoon lighting makes this image pop with the golden fall colors! I really like the angle you chose to the light so it cuts across on a diagonal from rear right to lower left, and the three large tree trunks angling in the opposite direction on the right side. It draws my eye to the little cluster of smaller, brightly lit trees just beyond. This is my kind of photo! Warmest regards, Todd Link to comment

michaellinder 16,613 Posted October 1, 2021 Vincent, whether or not the shallower DoF gave you concern doesn't entail a flaw in the image. I readily perceive a wide swath of gold/orange with which the setting sun bathed the forest. To me, the fact that the lighting is predominantly low key isn't a flaw in the image; rather, just the opposite is true. Besides, the composition and perspective are spot on. Finally, I'm sure that Nature herself welcomes the image to her collection. - - My best always, michael Link to comment
