Yellow-legged gull - (Larus michahellis). I photographed this Yellow-legged gull as it came in perfectly symmetrical front flight, with Nikon D850, Sigma supertele 300-800mm, f / 6.7, 1/2000 sec, ISO400. Thanks for your comments

Great picture, Giangiorgio! Wonderful bird and geometry! It seems to be purposefully flying straight to you and wants to say something! Perfectly captured! Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana

Hi Giangiorgio,

you have used your extreme tele lens to the max in this frame-filling image of this gull! I like how you have captured the details of its face and established eye contact. The V-shaped composition is very effective, even if the background color is a little dull, which of course you couldn't control. That's the reality of bird photography. Kind regards, Vincent

Giangiorgio, by the time I started coming along in my fabled photography career, I already had the rule of thirds drummed into my head. Although the bird's impressive wingspan is almost centered horizontally, there is no vertical centering. The photo afforded me a "bird's eye" view of its magnificent wings and - better still - a straight-on view of its face. Quite frankly, I don't know if you've entered any of your bird photos in contests. If not, you must! - - My best always, michael - - - Ciao!
