vincentoiseau 83 Posted April 4, 2021 Hi Gary, well seen and executed photo of this quiet survival act! Nature sometimes shows great resilience where we would not quite expect it. You show the surroundings of the tree just enough to get an idea of where it grows, but the focus is fully on the strangely marked treetrunk, which is suitably evenly lit. I like the square frame. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
Gary-H 346 Posted April 5, 2021 Thanks so much Vincent for your comments. I was absolutely amazed whenI saw that the tree had actually continued growing around this fencing wire and survived. Best regards, Gary Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 607 Posted April 5, 2021 Great image but strangely I feel sorry for the tree. Link to comment
scotedw 44 Posted April 5, 2021 Interesting find. Must have taken years to grow like this. Looks like the woodpeckers have been at the tree trunk as well. Link to comment

Wayne Melia 6,041 Posted April 5, 2021 The drama of the contrast is an immediate hook; the anthropomorphic suggestion of lips set in expression fulfills; and subtler touches of color, pattern, and detail invite continued study. (forgive my futile attempts to reduce visual experience to text) Link to comment

DGorinstein 20 Posted June 6, 2021 Hello Gary: No wonder you have received so many well-deserved comments. I had to immediately send this image into my favorites because IMHO one rarely sees the whims and quirks (" an abrupt twist or curve") of nature, but did not go unnoticed to a seasoned photographer with great taste. A true delight. DG Link to comment

HermanRoes 6 Posted October 21, 2021 Impressive, nearly an X-ray image of a knee joint. Wood that has been suffering a lot. Link to comment
Gary-H 346 Posted October 21, 2021 Hi Herman, I hadn’t seen the knee joint resemblance when I took the photo. Thanks very much, Gary Link to comment
